Decorating a Marquee

AmyE85, 13 May, 2015 at 12:28 Posted on Planning 0 4

Hi All

With 10 weeks to go I have been so preoccupied with the big things and now am starting to wonder about the little things - like decorating the marquee. We're having it at my OH's grandparents' farm and 'converting' a workshop into a marquee (having it draped and carpeted) with a small marquee extension on. I've got 11 tables and have gone for classic vintage theme - tall candelabra centrepieces, ornate mirror place setting - that kind of thing.

So...what about decorating the room - i.e. the walls - would you bother? They are just going to be white drapes all the way around. I don't want to go with bunting or anything like that as that would be more 'shabby chic' / country than I wanted. Any thoughts appreciated please!

xx

How about ribbon tassel garlands or fairy lights, or for something different hang photo frames around with pics of you and your OH, and/or pics of your close family (parents/grandparents) on their wedding days?

Were having a marquee and I don't think there is anything on the walls ?, I don't think you will need it to be honest.

We are also having a marquee and having the walls bare . The main reason I wanted a marquee was for the draped walls and ceiling ( exlcuding the four gorgeous chandeliers) as I think it looks so simple yet elegant. Although we are toying with the idea of having a fairylight back drop just behind the top table xx

What about some fairy lights on the ceiling or covering just one of the walls? they look really effective

or maybe for the night time some colored lights which point up lighting up the walls a little like this...
