Hello everybody! thought id start by sayiong hello , im usually found on the wedding planning board, but now im married, we are getting on with sort ing out our house.

so

if you was buying a new sofa, what colour would you get? any got any recommendations on shops that are good quality without breaking the bank?

we have 1 from scs which the hubby(cant believe i can finally say that) managed to ruin so we are having to claim throught the house insurance. they are paying us 1200 pounds. i wont go back to scs, the current 1 we have, apart from oh ripping it, is looking a bit worse for wear and its not even very old.

doesnt matter to much about the wall colours, we can paint/paper and we are getting wooden flooring so theres no colours to match to as such xx

Congratulations! Is bizarre saying husband now isn't it. It still feels weird to me almost a year in!!! We bought a house this year & we got a brown leather sofa from a shop on e bay so my taste at the mo would be : brown leather sofa lol. We have mushroomy coloured Walls and one feature wall with dark brown & silver flowers which goes nice (was how it was, we have not done any decorating yet)

We have rusty red sofas, my mum bought me them for my 30th!!! Freemans catalogue were doing a Buy a 3 seater and get a 2 seater free deal. Tho the 2 seater looks like an arm chair on my hubby. This is them (in situ for my previous home sale)

we wont be decorating our lounge for a while but will prolly keep these (cream throws, cushions etc) for a while. Coz they are small they dont take up too much room....

I would love red sofas (or purple) but hb had bought his before I moved in and they're cream. So I have to make do with red cushions and throws.

His sofas were from Ikea, and they're doing really well - think they're about 3 years old.

    Congrats on the marriage! x

We have a two piece chocolate brown leather sofa from DFS and its fab! If you plan to have leather, always scratch the sides with you nail in the shop. If it leaves a white mark, the paints not fixed (Land of leather are bad for this!)

We have a very pale brown/terracotta colour walls. Dark brown flooring. Cream curtains. Very tall cream skirtings and white ceiling. Its lovely, and has a very cosy warm feel to it!
