Decorating our ceremony room

faye_h, 19 May, 2013 at 06:36 Posted on Planning 0 2

Hi there,

We're getting married at Haughley Park Barn in a civil ceremony. This is the room we'll be getting married in and I feel it's a little bare. I'm trying to think about how to decorate it on a budget and am currently considering hanging paper pom poms from the beams and poles. Do you think it will be effective or does anyone have any other ideas how we could decorate?

Thanks Smiley smile

What about some bunting? Seems cheap enough to make?

I bet once all the tables, chairs, cake table etc are all in it doesn't look nearly so bare. My venue looks quite similar in design and size and we're going with a less is more theory. We picked a barn to look like a barn!

I'm not having the bunting but it does add a nice feature and anything more would feel cluttered to me. We are fortunate that the string lights are a permanent feature though so there is at least something to make it a bit sparkly.

It's very effective if there are loads of them!! In fact it looks amazing.
