    HI ya

When are you getting married? Have you got a theme as such? Even if it's just colours. Are there any particular flowers you like or don't you like flowers? How high is the ceiling in your reception room and what are the colours in the room (carpets, curtains and chairs?) Hopefully with some of the questions answered I might be able to help put something together. Also, have you got a budget per table?

Hiya, i would say the ceilings are if average height to be honest, not high not low. the venue is painted cream so a blank canvas really. i was thinking pink but i havnt bought any dresses or anything in that colour yet so could be changed if i see anything i like, all i know is that i dont want black or brown(no offence to anybody who has them but i get married in summer 2010 and i class this as winter colours), i want something a bit more colourful. i get married at orsett hall july 2010

We had our table centrepieces provided by the florist that did all the buttonholes, corsages and bouquets. They were like this, although this one is on the top table - the round tables had this in the middle and tealights on the mirror:

It cost us £15 per table. We also added table diamonds, half clear and half blue, to add a bit of bling to the tables. We didn't want anything that was going to get in the way of people talking. Last wedding I went to had gorgeous tall vases of orchids (I think) in the middle of the table, but I couldn't see the people opposite for the flowers!

Ok, so really nothing for inspiration then. Were you thinking of a certain style? Modern, classical, country? Would you like to use candellight?

Some of my designs for past and future weddings are (i'm on my laptop and the photos are on my big comp but you can look at my website for a few of them www.finesseplanning.co.uk)

Large silver Candleabras with ivory candles, teal and silver butterflies attached all over the candleabras with clear cyrstal garlands draped over it.

Large white birdcages with red roses piled in the bottom and also having the roses threaded onto invisible wire spiraling from the top of the cage into the flowers at the bottom. Tea lights and rose petals around the outside

Tall large vases with a ball of white hydrangea heads on top with long thin wire coming out of the flowers with small black feathers attached to the ends and the feathers hanging down on invisible wire inside the vase to a small pile in the bottom

Silver pots with gingham ribbon tied round the top filled full with Gyphsophilia with silver butterflies on wire placed into flowers. Tealights around the pots

Storm lanterns with large candles in the middle filled with sand, then water ontop and a ribbon tied around where the water and sand meet (this was for a pagan wedding, elements of earth, water, fire and air)

I've done fishbowls with floating flowers, beargrass etc but I think they've had their day.

Very popular still are large martini shaped vases filled with gorgeous bright flowers. I'm very much a lover of bright funky colours for summer weddings. Combining, pink, yellow, organge and red for maybe with a darker colour like purple to add depth, something different and vibrant. It allows you more choice for your bm's and will look so striking!!!

These colours always make me feel really happy.

To be honest, I think your best bet would be to meet with a florist and throw some ideas around and get some ideas onto paper!

Have you looked through any wedding mags at all for inspiration? i have torn loads of pics out and used those to help formulate some ideas as to what i want. i then showed these to my florist and said 'this is what i am thinking of... what do you suggest?'

are you having BMs? if you are then you might want to think about getting their dresses, and then making that your colour scheme?

otherwise, websites such as stylemepretty.com and projectwedding.com are very useful.

this was the inside of our tipi (winter wedding)-the table runners were made by BMs mum, the vases were hired from the tipi company and we arranged the flowers ourselves (I got some from the market and spider orchids from our florist). we had pine cones, candles and pumpkins on each table too.
