Delivering invitations

Larkie08, 11 February, 2012 at 12:44 Posted on Planning 0 9

Hi,

Quick question about delivering invitations...all of our daytime invitations will be posted to our guests but for the evening we are mostly having friends from work and extended family. Is it acceptable to give invitations out to the evening guests if we see them on a daily basis or is that a complete no no and they too must be posted?

Thanks x

If guests were people we worked with or see on a weekly basis we handed them out, or left on desks/in slings only posted ones that needed them!

Absolutley fine IMO, I'm even planning to hand deliver some day invites. Why spend the money on postage for someone you're going to see anyway? Just doesn't make sense!

The only thing that can be awkward is if they open it in front of you, they might feel like they have to give you a reply right away, so try and manage it so you give it to someone just before saying bye, or give it to them but ask them not to open it till later!

We gave them to anyone we saw... or planning to see. Having a girlie day with a few girls tomorrow so I have still have those to give to them. Anyway to save money - is a help in my mind! We just posted the others second class.

Fine to hand deliver. Most of mine will be hand delivered. No-one is going to judge you if you pass it to them! Someones wedding 'etiquette and tradition' can go too far! I'd just hand them out at work etc!

We only posted those which could not be hand delvered...I don't see any issue with it at all.

I've hand delivered some of mine. Seems a waste to spend pennies on stamps!
