densitst may have taken the wrong tooth

I feel really stoopid for not being more certain but I think my new dentist may have taken the wrong tooth out. I can't get to see them until Monday and I feel sick. I don't have many teeth left really as I had so many out when I was a kid and had braces. If they have taken the wrong one then I will probably need root canal work on the one that is left and will be left with the chances of that being taken out in the future.

I know it sounds really blonde to say I am not sure but I was having trouble getting food stuck between two teeth and then I had a filling on a molar, I thought my first proper molar. When I went to new dentist I pointedin my mouth and told her of trouble and she said it was x tooth, then after the xray she said it wasn't the one she first thought of and she showed me it on the xray and the filling was pressing on the nerve. I have a tooth out and it was only a couple of days ago but I am not getting the nerve twitches I was having before and she has taken a different tooth to the one 'I' thought.

To make it worse my old dentist say they filloed Lower L6 and the new dentist has taken out Lower left 7, but @I am told they sometimes write the wrong one down.......

do I need to contact a solicitor.....or is that a bit extreme.

Are you still getting the pain or not?

I think you need to go back and see the dentist before you take any drastic action

Oh c&*p they have taken the wrong one out but have concocted some story about how both of them were infected. As a 'gesture of goodwill' they have offered to pay for root canal work on the remaining tooth, but there is no guarantee that it will work.

Don't want to go for legal action but I think I have to. Don't want to be 35 with a gap the size of a 50p just where I need to bite!

I had 2 teeth next to each other and didn't know which was teh problem - I was certain it was one which already had a filling, they said no it was the one behind and did a filling but that didn't help. I was still sure it was the original one, they said no and took out the one behind and once the swelling went down it turned out they were right. my other one is fine and I haven't had any more problems. Apparently it is actually incredibly hard for them to get the right tooth if it is molars because of hte way the nerves are and where you feel the pain isn't necessarily the tooth it is and x-rays can't show up everything.

sorry you have this problem though - I hate teeth completely now, fills me with dread in case they all fall out or something.
