Brilliant site - I've been designing dresses all evening.

(I did that one; not bad is it?)

I'm another one who'd be really interested to know what the quality is like if you do order from them.

Oh what a fab site. I'm considering ordering from there but not sure if I'm decisive enough to decide on one design!

It's a shame their styles are all so eveningy - I'd love a couple of simple shift dresses for daytime.

Oooooooooh looks fab, I am off to quite a few weddings this year, and I love the purple silk colour.

Might have to have a serious play when I get time and order.....

What happens if we design a dress and it doesn't fit - even though we got the measurements right? Could this happen?

I found this site a while ago and thought my prayers had been answered. I struggle to find dresses on the High St that suit my shape (long torso, big discrepancy between my waist size and hip size, etc).

I actually went in to the studio to have my measurements taken in person (they were running a special deal at the time) and ordered two dresses. Unfortunately the dresses are unwearable. Having gone in for measurement and committed to buying two dresses I was really upset to realise they were really horrible. The upper arms were so tight I couldn't get them over my elbows, which meant I couldn't even get either dress on far enough to see if the top section fitted. However, it was the hip section that was completely inexplicable. On each hip there was a bulge of material so large they actually looked as if they were some sort of clown outfit. It was as if there was meant to be some sort of bustle worn underneath or they were some experimental student design. There was enough material on the hips jutting horizontally out from the waist for two dresses. Even on the hanger it looked ridiculous, but when I the dresses on without wearing the top half (as that was impossible) I just couldn't believe the dressmakers thought 'yeah, that would fit a human...' . It was beyond odd. If I had taken the measurements myself I would have assumed it was my mistake, but as they measured me, it was clearly something in the design or sewing.

I think there is a process whereby you can send the dresses back for alterations. TBH, I didn't bother as I thought if the designers/dress makers thought the monstrosity at the hips was at all normal I just couldn't see them getting it right a second time. I'm going to have the fabric unpicked and remade by a local dressmaker.

A friend ordered a dress at the same time. While hers wasn't designed for aliens, it didn't match the measurements she'd submitted and also needed some serious alterations by a local seamstress. She is happy with it now, but the cost of alternations meant it wasn't any cheaper than going to the local seamstress in the first place.

Fabric quality (and the quality of the workmanship, alien shaping aside) was fine and delivery time was ok, though not within their claimed time period. Great idea, unfortunately let down by the oddest of execution.

That's really interesting, Dopper. PMSL at clown dresses.

I'm sorry to say this, Sarah, but those photos are really, really awful and do you no favours.

That's really interesting Dopper. I hadn't seen the photos of finished dresses before I don't think ?

After having a fiasco with alteration for my bm dresses I should have learned my lesson perhaps that you get what you pay for ?

We always welcome the opportunity to put things right and always make free alterations and adjustments if things do not fit perfectly, we would of happily have taken care of this.

By the time they arrived (after stated delivery time) I was frantically busy tying things up at work in London to leave for the NY office for a few months. If I'd had more time I would have returned them and asked for my money back, but I had more critical things to organise before I left.

Given just how odd the first attempt was, I was not at all confident they were going to be able to get it right a second time. I have a dressmaker two streets away who has done quite a bit of stuff for me before, and I feel far more confident she'll be able to sort something out. Having already trekked across London for a personal fitting and then spent time on the phone and email asking where the delivery was, I wasn't about to throw good time after bad on the project.

Without resorting to a tape measure - I think I'm too big for their sizing. ☹️
