In photos together they seem to take turns in one looking serios and one looking playful - I wonder if acting couples do that? I think it was after Scootes first appearance they got together. There is a scene at Marshal & Lilly's wedding when Scooter has gatecrashed and Barney gives his a fleeting "hey Scooter" and they audience love it so i assume their off screen romance was public knowlege when they filmed that.

Probably one of the reasons Scooter comes back so offten, like Sandy Rivers (Lilly/Alyson Hannigan's real life hubby!)
