DHL have my dress and are awaiting payment??!

I would think import tax...

Could it be that the weight of the package is more than has already been covered by your payment and you need to pay the excess?

Huh?! Import tax ? I wasn't aware of anything k just paid for the dress including shipping/ delivery! How much could it be? Of course I'll ring later am in uni at mo. I don't have a penny! Grrrrr! X

If you look at any of their auctions it states clearly

"5. The taxes are charged by your country, so we won't take care of them. But if you have any suggestions, we do try our best to lower down such cases. Thanks for your co-operation and understanding. Enjoy your purchase."

Not that it's any help, but it shouldn't have been a surprise. It's import tax.

I got an invoice from DHL about a week after getting my dress for VAT. Was about £6 or so, certainly under £10.

Oh, and they listed it as "knitted dress" or something for a very small amoutn of money... ?

Hi, I ordered my dress from china paid for shipping / delivery but still had to pay import taxes, which came to about £22. I have ordered other things for the wedding from abroad and usually costs between £12-25 for import taxes on top of what I payed for shipping with the companies I have bought the items from. Hope this helps x

All sorted- I didn't actually order via an eBay auction just via the email as it was a custom made dress. It only cost £7.80 or so for VAT- relieved as I thoguht it would be £50+ from was I read online earlier

Now to wait until tomorrow or Friday when hopefully it will come... eeeeeeeeeeeek!!
