diamand shaped/shapes on tiara?

mocha, 1 April, 2011 at 14:43 Posted on Planning 0 8

I have a dress (FINALLY) which has silver (really shiny) design across the part aboce the waist so they are like big diamonds next to each other.

i suppose getting a flowery tiara will look silly as opposed to one which has mini diamond shapes next to each other going all across?

so, where can i get one from which i can try on in store? looked on debenhams website but not anything on there.

    Hi Mocha

I had a client who had very similar sounding detail on the bust line of her dress (has yours got sort of pleats on the skirt?). Matching up diamond shapes proved difficult and ones I came across like the one below I wasn't keen on myself and any others were too vintagey looking so in the end I designed something bespoke to co-ordinate rather than match the diamante and that's how my "Waltz" comb came about below which she was thrilled with (there's now a sided tiara version too). The pearl and navette shapes worked well with the diamond shapes.

I know this doesn't answer your question about where to try on a tiara with diamond shapes but hopefully it will give you idea to also look at other shapes which will co-ordinate with the detail too.

    Good luck!

Do you have a link to or photo of your dress that we can see? I think it really depends on how prominent the diamond shape is as to whether a floral design would work with it. You could pick something more "angular" like the flower used in Aster perhaps but on a traditional style tiara flower shapes made with beads might be too floral shaped IYSWIM.

    Hi,

I actually love the element that Lisa posted and have used it in a side tiara which has been extremely popular both due to it's vintage appeal and cost at only £45.

This is a picture of the design close up before it was finished as the girl above is wearing a silk wrapped band to match her hair colour so the band nearly disappears against her hair

How about either of these elements being used in a side tiara which combines a diamond shape and floral aspect. These elements are also made of Swarovski Crystals so there are of a great quality.

I can also design something totally handmade and this is actually a brooch made from Swarovski Crystals and the same shape can be on a side tiara. The size can be adapted to suit.

Most of my work is bespoke so if you want to chat about a design feel free to email me at ******@**************.**.**. My website has a lot of inspiration www.lynseysdesigns.co.uk as well as my FB page www.facebook.com/lynseysdesigns1. The 2 elements above can be found on FB here http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=39924&id=138437779505448.
