I'm not. Ours is all at one venue and I can get ready there so there isn't much point!

Same here - nowhere to go in the car, unless I fancied a drive round the block ;-))

My friend didn't. They got married and had the whole day in a hotel so didn't see the point in getting a car. She stayed at home the night before with me and another bridesmaid (her OH stayed at my house) and then we went to the hairdressers in town for 9am. D picked us all up and took us to the hotel where we all got ready in their suite.

I wouldn't if I was getting married in a hotel.

I'm not having a wedding car as such-

I need transport to get me from the hotel to the venue (ceremony and reception in one place) But just hired an exec car and saved 200 quid- it comes with chauffeur champagne and decorated!

I'm not either - I'm getting married in the Hotel so will get ready there. We are all going to the hairdressers for hair and makeup in the morning then heading straight to the hotel in our own cars to get ready.

I'm not going to - I'm getting ready at the venue and none of the guests will see me if I did make an entrance in a car, so there's really no point!

Do you know anyone with a half decent car which you could use?

I'm using our friends landrover! D has his own ex-military landrover which he's currently doing up which he will use for himself and the groomsmen and our friend will hus his landrover to drive me! My backup plan should the landrover not be ready in time is either a black cab or, there is a ferry service that runs pretty much from my hotel to the venue so I may get that!!! I don't mind being with the shoppers, I just worry there won't be room for me! ?

We did the same and got ready at the venue on the morning of the wedding so there was no need for a car and helped to save a bit of money. A few days after the wedding though we both said it would have been nice to have a car just to spend a bit of time alone together after the ceremony!! We didn't get any time alone really throughout the day. Having our photos done in the grounds of the hotel was lovely though with just the two of us and the two photographers but I do think it would have been nice to have a car but at the time it seemed a bit silly I thought as we were already at the venue!!

We went to a wedding last year where the couple were in the same situation and got ready at the hotel and they still had a car, they went for a drive around the local village and country side and arrived back grinning from ear to ear, champagne in hand with all the guests greeting them, it was lovely!!

I wasnt going to but my mum paid for a wedding car.I was going to use Addison Lee as they have Mercades that is driven by a chauffeur. So I booked 4 of them 2 to take my bridesmaids and flower girls and the other to to pick up my PIL and the groomsman. Our venue was only a 15min drive and for the 4 of them cost us around £100

    here is the link

We didn't have wedding cars as my cbm and I got ready at the hotel. I purposely did not want a car as I lost my dad 18 months before the wedding and going anywhere in a car with my brother in place of my dad would have made me start crying on the way to the ceremony.

Me and my bridesmaids are getting ready at the venue and so is oh and his best man. So there is no need for cars. In the morning i'll be going with either my mum, sister or aunt.

    Saves me a few penies.

We didn't have a car. I drove there with my parents (in my car) and got dressed at the hotel. TBH even if I wasn't getting dressed at the hotel and just getting married at the venue, I still wouldn't have paid to have a car. It's not something thats the least bit important to me and would definatley have been an area in which I would rather have put the money towards something else.

We didn't bother, we used our hire car instead. Nobody would have seen me in a wedding car and TBH I couldn't justify the expense.

As long as I got to the ceremony I didn't care!

We didn't have a car either. Mum and me were staying at the hotel the night before and as we only lived up the road from the venue H and the other guys walked (stopping off at a couple of pubs on the way!). It certainly saved us some money that's for sure.

I'm not getting one either and my parents are horrified by the thought as their house (where I'm supposed to be getting ready) is about 25 mins drive from the venue. However, I'm terrified that my dress will get scrumpled in the back of the car (it's got a silk skirt), so I've put my foot down and told them that I'll get my hair and makeup done at home and fully intend to turn up to the venue in my dad's car in my dressing gown ? but with my brother and sister on look out so that I don't bump into anyone before I can disappear to put my dress on! The parents are still unhappy, but I'm not budging on this one.

We're not having one. everyone arrives at the venue the day before and its all in one place so a car isnt needed. Saves a bit of money too!

I didn't. I knew that no-one would actually see my arrive at the venue, so I got my sister (the bridesmaid) to drive my car with a wedding ribbon on it. It was absolutely fine and we had a good laugh!

I'm not, going to be staying at the venue the night before but we'll be having a blessing down in Dorset, where me and my partner may borrow a family member's car.

I'm not, no. But I have arranged to stay with a friend who lives very close to the church the night before - she won't let me walk to the church and is insisting she drives me there. She does however have a rather lovely silver lexus, so I'm not complaining! Our venue is the church hall so no transport issues there!

I'm not. We are getting married about an hour and a half from where we live. I am staying at my grandma's and getting ready at hers / the next door neighbours (she only has one bathroom and that won't work with 4 girls to get ready, lol) I'm walking to the church as it is in the next street and O/H is walking as he is in a hotel about half a mile away. Our guests are coming by coach and we will be taking the coach with them back to our home town for the reception, I did think about a car but we want to enjoy the atmosphere on the coach with all our familyand friends.

A bit unconventional but I'm sooooo looking forward to it. We are going to compile a cd with our guests fave party songs and play it on the way to the reception.

    I'm not!

I'm going to stop over night in the hotel we'er getting married in and get ready there.

I am however toying with the idea of hiring a car as a surpise for my OH - there's a company that have got a DB9 he would LOVE!
