Did anyone write to Jim'll fix it as a kid?

cinnamon009, 5 June, 2014 at 14:51 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 13

And if so what for? Mine was to wash a baby elephant.

Hope this doesn't offend anyone but was thinking about childhood wishes as I've just booked H2B's birthday surprise which is to have a go on a proper JCB Big Digger Excavator at Diggerland in Kent. It was something he wrote to Jim'll fix it for as a bairn but I'm fixing it for him now. :-)

I never wrote in - I was too boring and unimaginative to think of anything I'd want to do! I bet your H2B will love his surprise Smiley smile

I vaguely remember writing to someone (although it may have been Granada Studios rather then Jim'll) asking if I could meet the MacDonald Twins from Coronation Street. I was slightly obsessed with Steve MacDonald.

Not me. The only thing I wanted was the complete set of all things ever made for Sindy and I didn't think I'd get it ?

Your H2B will love diggerland!!! We keep meaning to take my little man as he really loves diggers ?

I didn't but a close friend did (I didn't know her when she was young).

    She started her letter:

    Dear Jimell....

She thought that was his name. We didn't take the mick out of her at all for that. We definitely never changed all her name signs on various doors and pigeonholes to 'Jimell'.

I think I asked to meet the care bears! I was clearly pretty young at the time!
