Diet advice

June2012bride, 8 December, 2010 at 17:43 Posted on Planning 0 5

Hi all, I am after some diet advice. I get married on the 2nd June 2012 and I am looking at losing 2 dress sizes. I have seen so many nice dressers but I know that I would not feel comfortable without losing some weight. Are any of you on diets at the moment and can you offer me any advice? Thank you in advance. Em X Ps I do not like going to the gym... ?

Hi, I am currently doing weightwatchers... i dont go to the meetings i just only eat weightwatchers food as its easy for me (in nursing) working long days sticking WW microwave meals in. it controls ur portion sizes too.. I hate gym also so im doing the davina power of 3 DVD (legs bums and tums) workout and it is fab!

I only want to loose 1 dress size wich will be fairly easy in 4/5 months so im sure youll be fine in the time you have..

I recently had a tonsillectomy which prevented me from eating properly for 2 weeks and lost loads of weight.. (NOT THAT I AM SAYING YOU SHOULD STARVE OR HAVE A TOLSILLECTOMY) .. LOL just meaning if you cut down your food and increase your exercise it will fall off.. Smiley smile x

Hi im doing the new pro plus weightwatchers, im not going to classes but following it online. I find it pretty good as you get a daily points allowance but also an extra 49 points to spend at weekends on treats. So i can be good all week and then have a few glasses of red wine, chocolate and a chinese on a Saturday night without going over my allowance!

Having said that I have been struggling to stick to it but not because its hard but because I eat sweets when im bored and being stuck in every night due to the weather isnt helping! Although i did lose 4 pounds last week despite not sticking rigidly to it!

    Hi there,

I started Slimming World back in May and have lost 26lbs since. I'm def down at least one dress size, but not quite two.

I did have to go to the gym and swim to get there though. But the main thing is the fear of that lady reading my scales and telling me off. I hate paying money when I haven't lost weight, feels such a waste - so attending that is what keeps me motivated. It's all about £££!

Dieting will get you so far, but don't you want all those flabby bits toned up? (not saying you're flabby btw ?). I swim for 40 minutes once a week and cycle to work 3 times a week and that (just about) keeps me at a size 12 and I don't watch what I eat (within reason obviously) I do struggle as I have an under active thyroid so I do have to work hard as my metabolism isn't helping me any ☹️.

    Good luck

Thank you all for your advice. It does help when you know that there are other brides out there in the same boat. XX
