I am trying and so far I have managed to loose 17lbs but been at stalemate for a number of weeks where I have lost and gained the same pound.

Unfortunately I have another 3 stone to loose before the wedding next Oct so need to pull my bottom into gear again.

My favourite diet tip is "eat less, exercise more"

Or a handily timed bout of food poisoning helps. ha in all seriousness I decided I wasn't getting anywhere with mine, so bought 10 sessions with a brutal personal trainer which worked a treat.

I also got a bit obsessive which is not a good idea but did the trick.

Trying not to turn into a fatty bum bum wife now

It's so natural to put weight on whilst having a child, so well done to you for starting to diet, I know if it was me I would take ages to start lol.

Gym classes are amazing, you get to meet loads of new people, but I also miss a few due to work and stuff.

    good luck with it all.

I lived with a girl at uni who would genuinely try and give herself food poisoning so that she could lose weight, crazy bird!

I cannot recommend personal trainer enough. And I just stuck it on my credit card as I had spent all my money already on honeymoon clothes and paid it back after wedding.

Plus with a PT, you have the humiliation factor or trying to do stuff between your weekly sessions to spur you on. Each time you meet you don't want to collapse on the floor heaving....so you force yourself to go gym between sessions

Sign up to myfitnesspal! There's quite a few of us on here that are on it, and it's free! I find it helpful to track what I eat in this way as it makes me realise about all the 'forgotten' calories! I'd done quite well and lost half a stone using it, but fallen off the wagon a bit recently, so need to get back to it! x

My OH really enjoyed doing the NHS's couch to 5K podcasts they do and he lost 2 stone in about 3 months so thats really good if you enjoy running? (I cant do it because of joint issues, but I ride my bike beside him when he does it, and can say I've still been losing but obviously not as dramatically, but ratio wise, he has more to lose that what I do).

Food wise, like you've said, just healthy eating. I have PCOS so try keep off a lot sugar as the hormones that get messed up with it are also what effect insulin levels, so I kinda treat myself like a diabetic when it comes to sugar. Which on that note, really do keep an eye on cereals! Obviously the chocolate/sugar coated ones are loaded, but things like special k and branflakes have a lot of sugar per 100g too! I usually stick to shredded wheats and weetabix as they've not got added (or as much) sugar per 100g.

We also have a Fat Fighter's thread on OT that's updated pretty regularly. You 'check in' to confess your losses/gains, get some support, exchange ideas etc. It's open to all so you're more than welcome to pop over.

Mini, I am doing this too. I've got 3 weeks to go and for some reason, all I want to eat is chips?!

Up until this recent development, I was exercising lots and eating healthily. My tip would be to pick exercsies you enjoy and be organised with your food shopping; it is so easy to eat convenience food if you don't have anything else ready.

Apart from the last few weeks, where I've fallen off the diet wagon, I've lost two stone by using myfitnesspal and exercising.

I do a bootcamp twice a week. It's kinda like having a personal trainer but the cost is less as you share them with the rest of your group. They make you work hard but it's fun. All fitness levels go, so I wasn't too intimidated by the hardcore bunch as there are a few ladies my size too. It's great for toning up.

Also good is 30 day shred video. All mentioned in threads on the diet forums on here.
