Dilemma's !!!!!!!!

poochy, 20 January, 2013 at 08:29 Posted on Planning 0 4

My wedding is alfresco and relaxed at my inlaws villa in spain. Having never been married before i want everything to be perfect but my HTB says its a more relaxed wedding. We are not having a formal sit down meal but paella. There will be tables and im not sure if to do a seating plan or take a step back and just "go wih the flow" as i keep being told. I spoke to him about favours and he thinks these to should be nothing fancy. Advice and thoughts welcome please, im getting so stressed by this

How many people are you having?

I know it sounds very formal but if you are having a lot if people a table plan can stop any kind of rush towards tables in the shade etc! You could do a table plan and then let people choose where they sit on each table?

I read your previous post, I love the fan idea!

All sounds lovely btw, I'm a huge paella fan!

Sounds amazing! But then I'm bias as we're also having paella at our wedding!

Personally I would go with table plan and settings. My mum was surprised when I said I was doing it as it goes against the relaxed form of the day, but I think as a guest I would prefer to know where I was sitting rather than have to worry about it.

Sit down with your OH and explain why you want things certain and ways and it will work it out Smiley smile

    Thanks for your reply,

There will be 70 people including the bridal party. I never thought about the rush for the shade!!! There is so much to think about especially planning it from the uk. I think a table plan will be best but if i let people decide where to sit then when do i put the favours out???

I'm just giving all my guests a sparkler, unisex favours are the way forward!

i really woulda get in a tizzle though, tbh I don't think I've ever managed to take a favour home from a wedding!

    Hiya Poochy.

I've just been deciding on this myself. We're having our wedding in Rhodes and its a laid back affair like yours. We have 50 people. I'm going to do a table plan mainly so that we have the top table sorted. (mother is a pain and may complain about where the family end up if we don't) I expect everyone to move about after dinner anyway. I kept the favours simple. The same for everyone. They are having a glass bead keyring with the Greek all seeing eye on it. It's a symbol of good luck and very fitting for a wedding in Greece. It also matches the colour theme!!!
