Dinner thread

No idea what I'm going to have - but there's a virtual bottle of Krug for the winning suggestion.

Criteria:

Just for me

Don't want to spend more than half an hour or so cooking and don't want to make too much mess

Have loads of veg but no meat, but can swing past TJLFHFW so just about anything is possible

Will probably treat myself to a steak tomorrow night when I can get to the butcher so not that

Must be relatively low-cal and healthy

On you go!

I would do Nigella's Halloumi Bake (basically roasted vegetables, covered in slices of Halloumi) I think and washed down with a glass or two of white wine. Preparation time about 10 minutes, slam it in the oven - done.

We'll be having an Indian takeaway as H isn't due home from work til 8. [[rolls eyes]]

Cals obviously depend on the portion size, and not sure if it counts as healthy, but tonight I am craving a very simple bowl of pasta and a tomato sauce with a small round of goats cheese placed on top. Yum.

I am not even getting to have it as am busy after work and won't get in till late.

Either that or some type of fish - maybe monkfish?

I would do pasta with sundried tomatoes, ham, olives and feta cheese mixed together with a bit of basil and extra virgin olive oil as a dressing.

Tonight I am having a roast dinner cooked for me by MIL.

I have just spent MrF's weekly wage in our local italian deli, so we are having sourdough and olive bread, vine toms with basil and mozerella, roasted aubergine, fresh anchovies, rocket and spinach salad, black olives, green beans in balsamic with seseme seeds, erm... i think that's it. oh, and brie. and dark choc souffles for pud.

i would get yourself exactly what we are having - it looks delicious ?

Prosecco with a side order of prawn crackers. Tomorrow will be a slight change, I'll be having prosecco with a side order of pizza instead.

I think I'll pop round to Asda for some steak & burgers and do a barbie.

I've been lazy all day and couldn't be arsed cooking, hemce I'm as hungry as Heath Ledger's cat.

Do you have eggs for a frittata? Tis lovely with green veg, onion and potato.

In your shoes, I would probably end up crossing your ingredients with fox-in-socks yummy sounding feast and make whatever dippy/salady things appealed with the veg I have.

Or else I'd buy a nice piece of white fish, pan fry, and serve with a veg curry. I know this has a speshul name, but I have forgotten, and also terribly inauthentic in my curry making.

We've just had a starter of mushrooms stuffed with soft goat's cheese. I don't know what we're going to have next. Maybe a pasta bake.

None of that is particularly low cal though.
