Dinner thread

What's everyone having on this freezing Tuesday?

I'm waiting for loml to reply to my concerned-girlfriend email asking him if he fancies anything in particular (he's got a sore throat and is feeling mank, apparently), but am considering either recycling the rather lovely Thai-style soup I made last night, possibly with some dumplings or similar; or making sweetcorn, sweet potato and chorizo chowder; or getting some chicken or turkey breasts and crumbing them and having with roast corn, SP and salad.

Soup. I have a hairdresser appointment after work so wont get home till gone 8.30pm and H isn't home so cannot be bothered to do anything else. I've stock piled Covent Garden soups so will have a choice when I get in.

We're having a seafood risotto (Rick Stein's recipe) as I need something hot and spicy to kill off this sore throat.

I'm being terrible but quite looking forward to having fish fingers, home made chips and mushy peas.

I am studying tonight so dinner is defrosted bolognese with some sort of pasta, at 10pm when I've finished my work and H is, with luck, home from the office, poor thing.

Beans on toast here too. I have some really nice wholemeal bread that needs to be used up and half a tin of beans from last night's also lazy tea.

Proper beans on toast needs to be on plastic white bread so this is proper posh!

H is making quorn cottage pie with lots of veggies and gravy. I'm really looking forward to it, nice and filling and warm for such a freezing cold day.

    Rabbit stew/casserole (I'm improvising)

Never cooked rabbit before but went for my first visit to our local new posh butcher today and purchased assorted goodies, including the rabbit.

Either pumpkin soup or wild mushroom pasta (a Delia recipe). I think it will be pasta tonight and the soup tomorrow.

I'll be at the mighty Loftus Road so can choose from either a Chicken Balti Pie, a 'sausage' roll or a salt beef bagel. Washed down by a pint or two (or bottles if the pumps aren't working).

Lamb Koftas and pitta bread but I really don't fancy them. I took them out the freezer to eat yesterday so they really have to be eaten today, boo.

I want chicken ramen but have no chicken, which is a bit of a problem. ?

Chickpea & veg curry with homemade nan. I can't decide if I should eat with the children at 5 or with Mr M later. It smells lovely and I'm really hungry but if I eat early I shall want to eat again later when he does

OH is away so I can indulge in stuff he won't normally eat!

So...either fish fingers, chips and peas or pizza - can't be doing with healthy stuff tonight, it would involve a trip to Waitrose and its just too darn cold!

Just had baked potato with roast chicken and wholemeal sage and lemon stuffing, with caramalised red onion sauce and some cranberry sauce on the side. Room for some hot cherry pie and ice cream in about an hours time.

And it being diwali today, the neighbours will be out and about watching the fireworks, so its hot chocolate with whipped cream topping and sprinkles of chocolate on top- followed with samosas and various indian sweeties. by tomorrow I will weigh about 3 stone heavier.?
