    Finish-the-veg-box surprise ?

I've got some swede, some celeriac, some potatoes, carrots, a tomato, a Savoy cabbage, half a red cabbage, some Jerusalem artichokes, some leeks and some salad stuff ?

I think I'll do a layered bake-type thing with spuds, celeriac, sausages, tomato, JAs, swede and onion, and serve with with steamed cabbage and leeks.

I'm making a chicken, veg and red lentil curry for the boys, I'll have some left over veg curry from the freezer. However, I've had such a lard fest today I may skip dinner and go straight to the pudding wine.

I'm having a baguette with rocket, cherry tomatoes and avocado. (not your typical dinner but it's my favourite comfort food at the moment). Followed by rice pudding.

Edited to add that I will also be having beetroot on my baguette. You can never have too much pickled beetroot.

Hopefully the pork chops will be defrosted in time to cook, so we'll have those with end of the veg box vegetables, as the new one couldn't come today because of the snow. If tehy aren't defrosted it'll be a sad stirfry i should think

I'm off to Scotland tomorrow for the weekend (well hopefully..) and have absolutely nothing in the house. Will be a toss up between chippy chips or dominos washed down with red wine and then a mad panic to pack my bags with some warm clothes.

I have absolutely no idea. As far as I know we have no meat in the house so we should have stopped off at the butchers on the way home. Yet we're still at work and the butcher shuts in about 14 seconds. Doh.

I fancy a risotto but we have no risotto rice in (we're useless, we only went shopping on Tuesday) and our only local shop is a co-op so I'm not holding my breath on them having it!

I really do think you people are clever, I can never think (or tbh be bothered) to think of creative and interesting dishes for dinner...It always sounds like such hard work.

I HATE our menu's with a passion, but I just don't like the idea of cooking/following receipes etc.

I lift my virtual hat to you

I have a very similar selection of veg to Sophie. Our veg box was delivered yesterday. However, I am not going to be nearly as creative. I think I'll stop by Sainsbury's on the way home & get some meat/fish to go with root veg. Oh, that'll be meat then. Don't thing salmon & swede go together.

Have grand plans for surprising H with a rhubarb crumble though, so that will make up for dull dinner

Washed down with strawberry Nesquik or limeade.

Top of my list to buy tomorrow is a toastie cos I really fancy cheese toasties with spaghetti on. Tonight I have no idea, really need to cook the mince so looks like I'm having chilli or I might just leave it for tomorrow and then I can have it with the soured cream I really want with it! Argh I'm feeling so unispired and lazy ☹️

Was supposed to be going for pizza with colleagues but this has now been changed to Thai. Had a wonderful traditional north of england stodgy lunch with mrs magic today at sam's chophouse in manchester- fabulous homemade corned beef hash (made with new potatoes and with a poached egg on top- yum!) After all that I am not remotely hungry, but i love thai so I'll probably have something quite light and veggie to balance out the very meaty lunch!

I've just made beef daube (Rick Stein recipe) using beef skirt (one of those "forgotten cuts", apparently) - It is going to take 3 1/2 hours to cook though ?. Going to have it with mash potato (or rather Mr L is, I am going to have it with some steamed sugar snap peas). Just need to keep off the biscuits until 9pm...
