'Displaying' a shower bouquet

Purple Pixie, 7 June, 2012 at 11:56 Posted on Planning 0 5

I'm having a shower bouquet so it's going to have one of those plastic handles. I'd like to put my bouquet on the cake table (both for decoration and because it's got to go somewhere!) but I need a way of propping it up. I was thinking maybe I could make a hole in some oasis and shove the handle in but I don't know whether it would tip up and it would look ugly.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, PP x

Is your hubby fairly good with a saw? I use stands that my hubby made me - dead cheap and fairly easy to do. Piece of MDF wood about 10" square, take a length of aluminium or hardened plastic pipe used for plumbing, bore a hole in the centre of the wood to allow the pipe to sink in - roughy half an inch, pop a ring fastening over the top, again normally used for plumbing joints, and screw in for extra strength. Cover the base with white felt and that's it, Bob's your uncle! Just make sure that the pipe is wide enough to take your handle and that it's tall enough so your bouquet doesn't touch the table. Cheap as chips!

? He's good at coming up with solutions when I need something knocking up! I have a professional bouquet holder that move at all angles when I'm in the process of making one but once they're made, I need somewhere to put them pending being packed up so they are just the job and they're great for photographing them on too.
