DIY centrepeices! Do mine look effective??!

Tishab90, 6 May, 2015 at 21:03 Posted on Planning 0 15

So I'm getting married in July and have just trial ran a centrepiece for my Tables.

Do they look ok??

The wicker heart is a light and shall be lit up in the evening reception.

I am going to add some glitter onto the paper Pom pins to make them glisten And then the table will also have little jewels around this feature.

Do you think it will look effective??

I'd suggest making the stalk that the heart sits on either much higher, or shorter. Sit it on a dining table and sit on a chair, with someone else opposite. If you find the heart is in the field of view to those sitting on the other side of the table, its very annoying for guests that want to chat, or see each other. I personally hate the 'dodge the centrepiece' chat at weddings.

    Otherwise they are nice.

There is no way of my shortening or making them taller as it's all one metal frame. They actually aren't very tall or wide so I don't think 'dodging' them will be a massive issue.

But I will see by putting them on a table

I brought some spray and tried it on a spare one tonight and it was far too dark and it smelt soooo bad lol.

I've just ordered some loose glitter off eBay to sprinkle lightly instead

Do you think that sounds ok??

Thee are really lovely, I love hydrangeas! The only thing I would maybe suggest is wrapping either lilac or white ribbon around the 'stem' of the heart, maybe tied in a bow at the top?
