Mine were really simple - The base was white card, with black card on top and then white card I'd printed on. The dots are 'crystals' that I bought cheap from WHSmith. They did take nearly an hour each to print, cut and glue though!

My guests like them so much that most of them kept the RSVP rather then send it back Smiley smile

These were ours. I designed and had the rubber stamps made then embossed them.

Bottom right is the evening invitation that has a mother of pearl heart button sewn into the corner.

Love all these pictures of DIY invites. I wish I could make ours but unfortunately it would not be cost effective, I'd have to buy a printer first!

I've only just started making our invites, but they're purple origami hearts.

This is the main part (though there will be something in the middle too- not decided what yet):

And they open up with the information inside. We'll have a white printed diamond with all the information on here:

Our invites, they were circles and you spun them round to get different info. Nightmare to make though!

I made mine with kraft card blanks, a stamp from not on the high street and wrapping paper from paper chase. Also got a corner rounder punch from hobby craft which I thought made quite a difference! Going to follow the theme through for guest book, menus, order of service etc! That's the plan anyway! Xx

Emjjarvy that is a brilliant use of the stamp! I never would have thought about putting that paper with it - a really great invitation! x

Thanks! Originally I was just going to use the lace ribbon but decided we wanted to add a bit of colour. Not sure why the pic came out sideways though!! Not good at this flashing business!!

We purchased a pad of papers from hobby craft.

Then I made the card and half covered each one and matched a ribbon to match.

    Ta dah! Done..

If I could do it all again, I wouldn't. I would have concentrated on something else and paid for them to be made.

Just thought I'd bump this as I'm looking for inspiration at the moment - bought my glue gun this morning and that's as far as I've got!! I love these:

Which I found on pinterest and want to use as inspiration but am having trouble finding the right kind of 'vintage paper' for the coloured bit. Am sick to death of googling 'vintage printed paper' and walking around paper/craft/card shops looking for it!!

Any ideas greatly appreciated Smiley smile

These are just fantastic, serious invitation envy! Some very talented ladies on here Smiley smile

I'd have to make about 100 though, is it cost effective? There are some beautiful designs online but I'm struggling to find some with space to write guests names on them. Really considering DIY-ing it, although not sure my other half will take too kindly to me neglecting him in favour of cutting and sticking! X

FCheeks - as a cost saving exercise you can make your own simply with some nice paper and a printer. You can download fonts from https://www.dafont.com/ - if you have an eye for design it could just be a matter of designing it and pressing print (or taking them to printers?)
