DIY invite advice

Forever&always, 5 November, 2014 at 13:25 Posted on Planning 0 4

Hi, thinking about doing my wedding invites to save money. Just wondering how to get the wording printed on the invites? Have people visited local stationary shops or got it printed online? Im not creative and none of my friends have made theirs but just thinking of ways to save the pennies. My friend has all the equipment to make the cards which is handy. If anyones made their own and got any advice then plz get in contact. Thank. Ive included a pic of something similar to what I'm
after, sorry if its come out large

I used printed.com- you design them yourselves, upload and they print them on the paper you chose, the size, whether you want them folded etc. It worked out much cheaper than anywhere else we looked- etsy, vista print etc. £60 for 45 day invites, 55 night ones and 70 rsvp cards with envelopes, including postage to us.

I'm not sure if you have square invites or not but if you do, you can buy just the printed inside sections for invitations from a company called Sparkles & Stuff for 20p (they also sell the outer cards, but you may have these already). Hi,

You can write it on Word and then change the font etc and print it and then mount onto the cards and decorate. Hobbycraft have pretty bits to decorate with

I print all my invites at home.

I design the templates on power point. Making sure they are within a square shape so that the outlines print for me to follow. Always print on high quality too!!

I can then cut along with them my gulliotine, to ensure they're straight.

I use 260gsm card to print on but I know so printers don't like this. So I'd get a good quality paper if your doing the printing yourself.

Embellishments and the patterned paper you can get online at Imagine Doing It Yourself or The Handcrafted Card Company, along with ribbon too.

They're a simple design, so should be easy to make. I could probably make 50 of these in a day's work but I've got my routine and all day long, as its my business.

    Good Luck! Xx
