Django Unchained

Pompey, 13 August, 2013 at 12:22 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 21

Okay, so I borrowed this off of a friend from work and watched it last night as everyone had been raving about it.

Am I the only person who thinks that it really isnt that good? Just seems like same old Tarantino to me. Too long and lots of gore.

I have to say I do not like any of his films......Hostel almost sent me over the edge, I was disturbed for weeks after watching it!

    I love a good Tarantino.

I've seen Django Unchained twice now, it is a long film, but that's pretty standard. I enjoyed it, but nowhere near as much as I enjoyed some of his other epics. Reservoir Dogs wins hands down for me, closely followed by Jackie Brown and Pulp Fiction.

I did like Django though, but I have a soft spot of Leonardo DiCaprio too.. don't know when I developed that though ? (maybe that's why I tolerated it so much! hehe)

I ❤️ Leo DiCaprio. He gets better with age. Hated him when he was a scrawny little runt in Titanic and R&J.

I just thought it was a bit much. And I love gorey films normally.

I loved Django, thought it was brilliant.

Second what Jaysmonkey said about Jackie Brown being better though - that is one hell of a film!

I really disliked it and couldn't fathom why everyone raved about it. Hubby loved it. I think I posted here about it actually! Maybe I just didn't get it.

Its a good one but not the best thing Tarantino has done. I am a huge lover of Kill bill. And pulp fiction is hard to beat.

I think it's a fantastic film, but I love all Tarantino stuff. I like the way that yes it's pretty brutal, but there are also comedy moments in there, and it's so well shot (both myself and Simon waffled on about how great the lighting was......sad photographers!!!). My favourite has to be Kill Bill, but Django would probably be second, followed by Pulp Fiction

I loved it! I thought it was brilliant.

Saying that, I think Pulp Fiction is probably the most overrated film of all time, so I don't think my opinions of Tarantino films are similar to most people's!

I thought it was average. Enjoyable enough but not amazing. Definitely not one of Tarantino's best.

Completely agree with this. However, I do think Samuel L Jackson was excellent.

I absolutely ❤️ Tarrantino films; all of them (Inglorious Basterds and Pulp Fiction are my faves).

Have to say though, I didnt think Django was gory at all.

I watched it the other night and really enjoyed it.

I didn't realise Tarantino directed Hostel? I didn't enjoy that at all!

Loved it. Production value was fantastic, and it was very funny in places. Great cast. Looking forward to seeing it again.

    I thought Hostel didn't feel very 'Tarantino-y'.

I haven't even attempted to watch it, not a fan of Tarantino here, can't stand violence and gore for just for the sake of it.

Although, because everyone hypes up Pulp Fiction so much and it has dancing in it O have pictured it in a different way to his other films, so I want to try and watch it at some point, OH says I won't like it though.

Watched bits of Kill Bill which was alright, but that's the only one I can tolerate parts of.
