do i have a leg to stand on?

slimzoe1, 18 December, 2008 at 10:14 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 1

I ordered my mum an experience stay from littlewoods earlier in the week, there were a few experiences reduced and it clearly, in red stated reduced from £170 to £134.

when i received my confirmation email it stated it was £170 so i emailed them to query this. the reply i got asked where i had seen it advertised at £134 and, when i went back in to the site magically all the red reductions have vanished. (it wasnt just this experience there was a spa day reduced by £99 and various other reduction)

ive emailed them back pointing out ive noticed these reductions have vanished and i want it investigating. im guessing that i dont have a leg to stand on as i cant prove the price i saw it at- but is there anything i can do?

if i dont get a satisfactory reply to my email im going to ring and ask to speak to a manager.

i am not happy, its for my mums 50th birthday and it doesnt leave me much time to sort anything else out,.

My consumer law is rather sketchy but even if it had shown the £134 and you had a print out of it I don't think they would have to stand over it as it's an invitation to treat rather than an offer. I bought something once marked at a lower price, got a confirmation email at the lower price but then later got a call to apologise and say there had been a mistake and that was a pain but there was nothing I could do.

They may offer you something as some sort of goodwill gesture but I don't think they have to.

Hope you get it sorted/find something else!

What has annoyed me the most is the underhanded way its been done, rather than email and say very sorry theres been a mix up, the email asked me where i had seen it reduced, so i feel as if they are trying to make me seem a liar as the reductions have all now vanished.
