Do I need a kick up the arse to get stuff done? Or is everyone else the same?

rockclimbingtigger, 7 April, 2009 at 17:04 Posted on Planning 0 10

Afternoon ladies ?

Just wondering if anyone else was feeling the same as me? We're getting married in 6months, 10th October this year.

I just seem to have this kind of "can't be arsed with it all ness" about me at the moment! Don't get me wring, I love Mr RCT to bits, and can't wait to marry him, but I just want to get to that day now!

I've done the big stuff, church reception, dress, flowers etc, but its the little stuff. I have no idea about hymns,or readings or songs, and to be honest am not hugely bothered! ( I am so a closet bloke really) ?

Is anyone else like this, just wishing they could turn up on the day? Or is it just me?

RCT x

Oh from posts i have read on here you are perfectly normal. I personally am not going through that but I wouldnt worry, you have plenty time to sort out the finer details. I get married in 3 months and our minister is unlikely to want to see us till mid june or summat, so dont worry!

    Hiya

i'm 5th sept and i have booked the venues and got my dress, fil is sorting the band out but that is all i have done and i'm not even flapping yet.

felt a bit stressed las week but seem to have things sorted out in my head now so hopefully they'll be easy enough to transfer onto paper and start getting everything sorted in the next few weeks (fingers crossed anyway!)

so dont worry your not alone!

I'm 10th Sept, but will be flying out on 1st Sept....

I've not been remotely bothered for ages, but now its suddenly getting exciting now I've started buying stuff again. But I've not let it stress me out at all...Had bigger things to stress about recently! x

I'm 5th September, and have sorted all the big things apart from flowers, although I'd be happy with 2 of the florists I've seen and they were both very realxed about me not having booked them yet.

I've not got stressed about any of it yet, I'm enjoying it but can take it or leave it at the moment. I have a to do list with rough to do by dates on and just refer to that at the moment if I get a bit lost.

I think (hope) you are perfectly normal!

I'm 2nd October and can completely understand how you're feeling! I feel the planning has come to a bit of a standstill - have done the big things but it's a little soon to do some of the other bits and pieces.

I can't seem to motivate myself at the moment. I'm hoping over the weekend I'll kick myself into gear and at least start writing out the invites!

Im 22nd Aug, church booked, reception booked, dress ordered .. and that is about it, really must kick myself up the bum, ive done odd bits Im sure, but really must sort stuff out now.

Had a bonus today though, we have to be social members to have our reception at the golf club and spotted in a local mag that I could give a code for free membership so I called and asked if I could do it, therefore have saved the grand total of £30!!! Yay!

    Hiya

I remember it was like that for me with 6 months to go. We booked the venue, I found my dress and decided on people to invite within 3 months of us getting engaged. Then it went quiet until we needed to send out invites (I spent way to much time looking at wedding toot on the web) and then got busy again when the invites went out in Feb, now its lots of little things chasing responds, meal choices etc

I think you're doing fine, I also went through a "do I like my dress anymore" which is perfectly normal too.

You've got plenty of time x

Snap!! And I'm getting married the day before you - on October 9th.

It seems to be taking an age to come round, despite everyone telling me how fast it would go and to be honest I've got a bit bored of the whole thing and keep wishing for a fairy wedding planner to come along and do everything for me!

To be honest I can't wait for it to be the day after the wedding and we can just enjoy the memories and get on with our lives!!

    Good luck with everything.

I am exactly the same and it sounds like others have felt this way too.

My big day is Oct 24th and I just cant be bothered but feel like I have to get stuff done 'just because'. One thing I have achieved though is making my invitations. I, along with my CB and my good friend (who's also my florist) sat for 4 hours this afternoon making 100 of the little blighters. Pleased its one less thing to worry about...

    Awww thanks guys ?

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one! I'm starting to feel like my H2B is more excited than me (he's doing all the invites as he's the graphic designer), but I guess I'm just at that lull, and it will start up again soon ?

Hope everyone's plans go well, and nice to hear from my "almost wedding twinnies" ?
