WRS - I agree, they where a must have for me, but it does depend on your budget as they can be quite expensive!

I wanted them plus our chairs are a horriable green colour, but then I only wanted 45 so it's was only just over £100.

If you can afford them then I would say have them

Personally I think they can look a bit funeral-parlorish. That might just be me though!

I think if your chairs are okay (ie not some hideous swirly multicoloured pattern and don't clash with the carpet) then I wouldn't worry too much about chair covers!

    Ok, things to ask yourself:

    1) do you have £300 spare?

    2) if so, are chair covers the be all and end all?

Personally, I can't see the point of chair covers. Once people are sitting down, you can't see them! I have been to weddings where there have been covers, and I actually find them rather uncomfortable to sit on.

If it was me, I'd spend that money on something else.

But at the end of the day, it's up to you! If you want them, and you can afford it, then have them! What does your fiance think?

OH won't be fussed either way although will say about the money.

I just really like them and think they can transform a room. Need to work my magic on OH I think and then go from there.

I may have just emailed a few companies to get some estimations.

I think they transform a room and make it look very weddingy so I have always wanted them. Luckily my venue provide them for nothing so it has saved me money. I'd probably have paid for them though!

Personally, I try to avoid them myself if I can help it as I usually choose venues to match with a colour scheme including the chairs, or vice versa, the colour scheme is designed around the colours of the rooms. This way it does save about £300 which can be spent on a better photography package or more wine, better evening entertainment or even on the honeymoon. Personally I think they can look a bit tacky if not fitted properly. If I really don't like the chairs then I am more inclined to hire in new chairs ie/ gold or silver banqueting wooden chairs with colour co-ordinating pads as I think they look better and they are cheaper usually too!

It depends on the room. Does it really need chair covers? Can you really afford them or would the money be best spent somewhere else?

Here are some before & after pics which show how they transform a room:

Am having them as our theme is black + white and its hard to get black in otherwise.

Plus hate the chairs in my venue. Its just personal choice, do what you like - its your £££

After seeing the chairs available at the hotel I think we're definitely going for chair covers lol. Depending on the chairs available I think they can look smarter and really help transform a room.

Oh, now I need chair covers and sashes!! OH hates the sashes and I went along with him in part due to cost and practicality of us fitting them on the day. But now, looking at those before and after shots. I really want them!!!

    Darn it.

Hi Boogiebelle! I used chair covers for my wedding and honestly it was a complete transformation! I couldnt justify the price when I first got quotes but I got a great deal from Zoe at Ella's Events (Lynsey sent you the link I think!)

    Here is a wee pic!
