Do you change when you get home?

Your clothes I mean. I really must start, my clothes get trashed in the evenings. Kids, pah! And what to wear? Tracksuits always seem too slovenly. I think I'll get a few more pairs of jeans for slouching around in.

I have to have a cup of coffee first before I do anything. Then I'll have a shower first and then change into my jeans and long sleeved tops.

I couldn't change into my pj's, it seems so very wrong. What happens if the door bell goes or if friends visit? Or when you do go to bed your pj's smell of cooking? My sis used to do it, I've always thought it very odd.

I change from my pyjamas/joggers to a nightie about 8pm as I wind down for bed. I take the nightie off at bedtime as I sleep in the buff. ? Pyjamas to me aren't bedtime things any more, more house clothes.

I couldn't sleep without my pyjamas and bed socks on! Which is a good job when I'm bringing live mice down to the front door at some silly time of the morning. I use my dressing gown to hold the mouse as I'd hate to hold them for real..yuk! You must be hot stuff Mrs M ?

No, I never change in the evening, but that probably because I work for myself and can wear what I like. Mainly nice comfy jeans and a t-shirt or jumper. As a self employed person my working hours tend to blur into my social hours Smiley smile

It's really interesting to see how many people change, as I've never thought of it unless I've got my clothes dirty eg. photographing in a muddy forest or in a grimy wearhouse. Maybe I'll have to try a pyjamas evening!

I was only thinking yesterday that I need to get some trackie bottoms, I had some lovely ones from H&M but they were bought when I had MissSun and were too big. Sometimes I change straight away, if i'm not in a hurry to do tea. If I start cooking as soon as I get in then I wear an apron and usually run up to get changed when everything's on and simmering. I tend to put on jeans or 3/4 pyjama bottoms and a t-shirt. I'm not worried if people turn up to visit, it'll only be family and they wouldn't care what I was wearing.

Yes. Straight upstairs, jewellery off, on goes a tracksuit and I scrape my hair back. As soon as I possibly can I wash my make up off too. I hate playing with the kids with make up on for some reason ?

I must be a bit weird, as I don't even own any joggers, and PJs are for bed only.

I'll sometimes change into cropped trousers and a t-shirt after work, but don't usually bother. Jacket and shoes off is relaxed enough for me.

I usually change out of my work skirt or trousers as soon as I come home. If I've been wearing a skirt I'll have been wearing tights as well, and I have to take the tights off as soon as possible.

I'll usually just put a pair of jeans on and keep my top on, unless I've been unusually smart and worn a button-up blouse to work.

For some reason, I hate going to the loo at home in work clothes, so I change before I go to the bathroom. If I'm desparate for the loo, I'll take my skirt and tights off, and go to the bathroom in my top and knickers.

I usually have a shower and put jeans and a jumper on and then have some tea, If we go out for tea or have things on after work Ill shower when we get back and put PJs on then but not usually before 9 ish. I never sit about in work clothes, the sooner they come off the better!

I am the same. I don't really understand PJs as house clothes, and I don't wear anything in bed so I don't change into night wear when I get home.

I usually get in about 8.30/9pm and change out of work jeans into more casual ones - simply so my work clothes don't get covered in dog fur. I don't have comfy/slouchy clothes really, just normal ones. Maybe that's why I am never relaxed?

Phew, thank goodness for AllyDrew and lois, I was feeling distinctly odd there. I don't own Pajamas and I sleep naked. I often work late or go out after work and get in late, so I just come home, de-maquillage, strip and crash. If I am at home for any length of time in the evening, I either keep my work gear on (which is probably silly because I'm sure it must smell of cooking and get dog hair on it, but then that's what the washing machine/ dry cleaners are for...) or I lounge around naked. I find jeans far less confortable than the kinds of shirt dresses etc that I wear for work. If I'm really ill, I'll wear yoga pants and vest to lunge around, but that's pretty rare. I think I'm a closet nudist, possibly.

I change into jeans and a tshirt when I get home. It's odd but I find getting out of my work clothes helps me put the day behind me and relax a little, even though I still have to check my blackberry etc.

Usually I'd change into jeans, keep the same top on (semi-casual at work) but at the moment it's 'lounge trousers' as jeans waistbands are way too uncomfy with the bump. PJs strictly for bed and then only between about mid Dec and mid Jan!

As soon as I get in usually. I have pairs of jeans that I keep for just round the house, usually older ones and casual clothes. On winter evenings I have been known to change into my PJ's when getting in if there isn't the remotest chance of someone coming round. I'm another one who sleeps starkers, so my PJ's and nighties are mainly gifts and if I didn't wear them round the house, they wouldn't be worn.

If i know im not going out or expecting company i will change into my pjs about 5ish as thats what im most comfy in and cant see the point in wearing anything else when im not going anywhere tbh.

If im feeling really lazy il just put a dressing gown on but have been caught a few times by unexpected visitors so dont do that too often ?

My bra is off before I've even said hello to the husband! I can't stand them.

Otherwise, I only tend to change if I'm wearing something particularly uncomfortable or easily wrecked by cat's claws, or if I have a shower straight away.

I don't own pjs (I'm another nude sleeper) so it's usually black tracksuit bottoms and a vest top.

For me its PJ's/nightie as soon as I get in to stop the baby throwing her food all over my work clothes! I sleep naked though.

I cant wait to get my hold ups/tights off as soon as I get through the door and have been known to be sitting in the living room naked within seconds of getting through the front door.

Another nude sleeper here, I've not owned any nightwear since I was 16! I just don't see the point of getting dressed to go to sleep?

When I get in from work I throw on my baggiest pair of jeans and the first top that comes to hand, I couldn't relax if I stayed in my suit.

Some very interesting replies on this thread - I hadn't realised so many people 'changed for home'.

If I'm coming home straight from work, I'll keep my work clothes on during the evening. Taking my shoes off is my concession to being 'out of work mode'. There again, I don't have to wear formal clothes as in a suit - I normally wear day dresses and so on to work, which are comfy anyway. On a slobby night I'll probably go wash my makeup off / moisturise etc at around nine-ish and then put on a dressing gown. I don't own PJ's and so on either, and always sleep in the nude or, if it's really cold, a oversized t-shirt and socks.

If I'm going to the gym straight after work, then after the workout & shower I'll put on clean gymwear to walk home in, which I then change out of when I get home and set aside for the next day's workout. I only live a couple of minutes away from the gym so it's hardly dirty ?. I'll then put on whatever's to hand, really. I don't see gym gear as 'lounging gear' - it makes me feel like I should be doing something ?

We both come in and get changed before doing anything else, but both H & I wear suits to work. Usually it's into jeans/casual clothes, but in winter I will put my pjs on if I know we're not going out again. It's more comfy, plus stops the "smart" work clothes getting food splashes/covered in cat hair/crumpled when I fall asleep on the sofa.
