Do you dare to bare?

(Claire), 16 September, 2013 at 13:33 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 78

Following on from the BB thread, how many of you don't wear make up on a daily basis? I wouldn't dream of leaving the house without at least foundation, I don't think it helps that the rare times I've sported the nude look I get asked if I'm coming down with something.... nice! I do wish that one day I could leave the house without it but it won't happen, well not any time soon. I envy natural beauty ?

I wear make up to work to look professional, but don't bother at the weekend, so I go to church/shopping/visiting etc. without any make up on.

I don't wear makeup to work. In fact the only time I wear makeup is if I'm going out, so weddings, for lunch/dinner or drinks etc.

I never leave the house without using eyeliner, mascara or my eyebrow pencil.

I rarely use foundation, just moisturiser.

I wear concealer and mascara, I only wear concealer as I am not the best sleeper and constantly have bags or black circles under my eyes and I wear mascara becauses my eyelashes are really fair and you wouldn't see them otherwise, but if I had a good nights sleep and therefore no signs of tiredness under my eyes I would be happy to go bare and often do on holiday or if just popping to the shops.

I don't wear make up to work, but I really should! I'm just too lazy.

For all I'm obsessed with make up, I usually only wear it when I've got something on. I feel work isn't 'worth' it if I've not got something specific on.

I thought this thread was about streaking for a moment, which is a habit I knocked in the head three years ago now.

I sometimes go without foundation but never without eye make up. I am also jealous of natural beuaty.

I should wear makeup all the time as my skin is awful but I haven't been wearing it. It's too much effort. I don't leave the house much though so it's not really a problem.

Right now I'm glad if I can manage to brush my hair!

I don't wear much make up anyway, just a bit on my eyes and maybe blusher. On very special occasions I crack out the bare minerals foundation. I'm very low maintenance.

I wear make-up all the time, though I'm not afraid to go bare.

I have been to work without make-up on a couple of occasions and people always assume I'm a)tired or b)ill.

I wear mascara all the time but everything else is for special occasions. I'm too lazy to wear it to work by the time I've walked or run with Rosco had a shower and got dressed I need to leave the house to get to work. I would need another 10mins or so for make-up and it's not worth it I'd have to be up at 5:30. I used to wear it on the weekends but since meeting OH whose family have a farm I spend so much time there on the weekends with the horses I don't bother then either. So now it's only if I'm going out or we have a client in at work that I bother. I wish I had natural beauty too but I don't care enough to get up early!

    I don't wear a thing!

Make-up wise. Obviously I wear clothes.

I will put make-up on for a special occasion, but not day-to-day.

I don't wear make-up unless I'm going out in the evening, or I'm ill and need to look less like a zombie. It just doesn't interest or bother me. I like not having to worry in the morning!

Every day for work and normally at least one day at a weekend if we are off out at all, or have people round.

I love the days I can have a break though and will quite happily mooch to the shops and so on without.

On the days I'm not wearing make up, I moisturise my face more often as I have dry skin and eczema on my face. Hoping it is keeping the wrinkles at bay (yeah right...)

I wear makeup to work - I wouldn't feel right without. Even just lounging about the house, I'll put on some BB cream/concealer/mascara. I might occasionally go to the local shops without anything on.

He'll no!! Occasionally I'll not wear it if I'm 100% sure I'm not leaving the house. But I hate my skin so without make up I don't feel right. I'm much happier if I'm wearing make up.

I did walk to Tesco on Saturday without make up....no that's a lie. I went to walk out the door and remembered I was bare. Rushed back to put on tinted moisturiser, but then isn't feel/look right o put some foundation on too.

ive been known to turn the car around en route to work because I've not put mascara or eyebrow pencil on.

I wear make up to work every day but I try to give myself at least one day a week where I don't wear anything so my skin can breathe a bit. And even then I have to at least wear a lipstick or gloss.

NEVER would go out without the full face on which is concealer, foundation, blush and eyes. Even if Im not going out, I still put it on as it's something I've always done so do it automatically like cleaning teeth. I don't feel dressed without it and it makes me feel good, not to mention look a darn sight better than without it!

One thing I have started doing though and this is advice given by the practice nurse when I had my recent check up to help bones (I'm at that stage of life Smiley smile is to try and have at least 10mins sat in the sun/fresh air each day with a bare face, no sunscreeen or anything to keep Vit D levels up.

I wouldnlt go to work without make up, I look really ill without it! I wear, concealer, powder, mascara and blusher everyday

I don't wear foundation though, ever, as I've never been able to find one that feels nice on my skin. I do wear tinted moisturiser on special occasions.

I'm genuinely surprised at the number of you that don't though, I'm not sure any women I work with go bare faced.

I rarely wear any make up - I'd rather have 10 minutes extra in bed in the morning. I probably should wear some though as I often look really tired (the extra 10 minutes sleep is obviously doing nothing for me)!

I usually wear light makeup for work or none at all. I like wearing it for going out and enjoy the getting ready stage. I have to rememer not to wear mascara on a jogging day or it all ends up down my face - not pretty!

I don't think I have ever been at work without make-up.

I find it vaguely traumatic going to the gym at the weekend without make-up, but I suppose it's ok because nobody would recognise me without it on!

I don't like the fact that my confidence is very much linked to having a made-up face (mascara, concealer, touch of eyeliner on bottom lids) and not having frizzy hair but at this stage I don't think I can help it.

If I leave the house I have full face on, if I am going out out I wear even more.

I also have, couple of years ago, when I used to dare, been asked if I am ill or the worst one was 'have you got chicken pox' Smiley sad

I always wear foundation and a bit of eyeliner for everyday wear, I don't have the skin at all to go bare Smiley sad
Wear a bit of lippy n make more of an effort with eye make up etc for nights out or occasions!
I started doing without foundation and just had eyeliner and my mums friend said "you look really run down and tired, are you ok?" so that was me back to my face on ?

Nothing to work, face cream, powder, mascara and eyeliner for going out.

Only out foundation on for very special occasions.
