Glad i'm not the only one wondering that! I dont think we are or they would mention it, i will feel a bit guilty though. I guess they will eat maybe a bit when we are eating, when he feels he has enough shots of everyone sat down. I am worried, he will be with us 10 hours! I will save him some cake!

We had a buffet style food so the tog just had some of that.

He did have on his form would it be ok to have some food put by or could he have a break to pop out and grab some food.

If your having an expensive meal you could always ask the venue if they will do up a plate "cheaper" or some sarnies for the photographer and they can just sit out and eat it whilst your guests are eating but i think he "norm" is to feed them.

I asked ours what he does and he just said he'd get a bar snack. I think we might tell the bar to charge it to our room though.

    Hi,

Its a really nice gesture to feed your photographer especially if they are there all day, some photographers put this in there contract.

we put some money behind the bar for a meal and some drinks for ours, not alcoholic of course lol.

    I hope that helps ?

We are paying tons for our photographer, quite happy to save him some cake but unless he actually says we are supposed to feed him then he can prob afford to buy his own i think!

Nearly every couple I meet ask me 'If you are going to be there all day what will you do about food', offering me something to eat in the process.

To which I reply, 'I never expect anything however if it's offered I don't turn it down'.

Be it sandwiches or part of the buffet, food is food. I've been sat away from the group or I've had my name on a table with other guests. At really expensive do's I've had £20 put over the bar of which I spent £12 on a burger and J2O.

Look after the tog and they may decide to stick around a bit longer than they should increasing the quality of your album.

I was caught by a 'Suprise' hog roast last September when I'd just gone to a Macdonalds on the way to the reception venue.

I needed to be rolled around afterwards.

You are their employer for the day so you need to tell them if they need to provide for themselves or not. With me, if nothing is said I cater for myself but it rarely happens as someone always grabs me. Maybe it's my personality that gets food shoved my way ?

We asked ours if he would like anything and he insisted he was more than happy to bring his own sarnies!

We've told the hotel though that if he changes his mind he can charge one of their bar meals to our account-as it seems a long day just to survive on sandwiches.

Our caterer is going to dish up all the people there TOG, VOG etc a meal , she said she always cooks extra so they can have whatever they want of what we are having, and i am very happy with this.

I shall be feeding everyone that does anything to do with the wedding. Granted not quite the meal we will be having but i will make sure that they are all sorted. I know that I dont work best when hungry so wouldnt expect anyone else to. I will prob have sandwiches and drinks send up while we are havign our hair and make up done and tell the girls that are doing it all to help themselves. Everyone else will either be told that they will be served in the bar or to help themselves from the evening buffet.

Glad I came across this, we are meeting ours on Tuesday so I can ask him if he wants dinner. I think it would be quite nice for him to sit amongst the guests so he can get to know everyone. He is there with us all day afterall

It's similar for me as the "roadie" to a DJ. Often we go to a function to set up at say 5pm for the disco to start from 6pm and then go on till 12 or so. We often don't eat at all during that time and as neither of us smokes we don't take fag breaks outside even, so it's full on all the time.

We feel it's rude to ask and wouldn't ever just go and help ourselves from the buffet. So we only eat if invited too. It can be quite difficult if we're hungry and the smell of bacon sandwiches comes wafting over from the buffet!! Often the host will say "oh why didn't you help yourselves there was plenty there" but we don't do that as we don't feel it looks professional to just go over and help ourselves - slightly different to a photographer as we're in one place all the time so it looks more obvious coming out from behind the decks to grab food!

We could take food with us but don't generally do that though we do take drinks of water.
