Random musing from me,

I did- but nearly a year a go we fell out. We used to phone or text a few times a week, go out at least once every couple of weeks for a drink, food, cinema or just pop to each others for a brew etc.

In some ways I really miss her- the only other people I do things one on one with is boyo and my mum.

I go out with people from work if the opportunity arises and a small group of us go for breakie every so often. We have two other couples we are quite friendly with who we do something with every month or so but other than that I am pretty much a loner!

How about you guys?

ETA I have cringed at my use of the term 'best friend'!!!

I've got four really close girl friends who I normally refer to as my 'best friends'- I've got different relationships with all of them and see some more than others but pretty much share everything with them.

but I would probably say my brother is my best friend tbh, we hang out a lot and he's the first person I turn to when I'm upset (apart from OH).

Have also got a fairly large group of good friends, we see fairly regularly at the pub depending on who's around. Most of my friends are still at Uni or have just finished and are doing various post-grad things in various places, so it's quite hard to keep up with their lives most of the time, but I do try.

Got some amazing friends really, so quite a lucky girlie.

Yes. Well, two. They're also sisters so we're always going out together. The older one, I've been friends with since I was 6. The younger one, I became really good friends with when the older one moved away for Uni as I'd still go to their house (their mum is known as "mum 2"). I speak to them both at least weekly and see the older one every week.

I also have a best boy friend who I speak to everyday and see a few times a month.

I have had a bestest buddie from the age of 3 Weeks!! The day that she was born. We have been through playschool, primary school, Secondary School and all the rest thats followed. It will be 38 years this year and she's my Rock. We were MOH to each other im godmother to her two children, whenever were needed were there. We dont see or speak regulaly just as and when we feel the need. When we were young we were total opposites in everything as we have grown older we find we have more things in common. I do feel sorry for her though, my birthday is 3 weeks before hers and she pretty much knew what she was getting for hers as she watched me unrap mine. Blue Velour Jogging Suit, Rubix Cube, Yellow and Red Wendy House, Handmade knitted jumper with clown on the front!!! yep her birthdays pretty much sucked ?

She is the only one that knows all there is to know and exactly how I tick, we have never fallen out, sometimes we have been a bit harsh with each other but most of all its been honest, which has been the greatest foundation for our bloody marvelous friendship

I don't have a best friend, but about 5 very close friends. 4 of these I work with and who have been my rock over the past few weeks, but because of our shifts we don't see each other outside of work. The other is my MOH who I met in school. We've been friends for about 12 years but she lives in Cardiff so I don't see her often.

I'd love to have the confidence to go out or join evening classes and make new friends as I spend a lot of time alone.

My H is my best friend, he's the one I tell everything to. I have two "best friends" from school and other than that I don't really have any other close friends. I find it quite hard to make friends, it's very difficult for me to let my guard down.

I have one best friend who I met at uni and we were housemates for three years. She lives over 100 miles away and has two babies so we don't speak to or see each other much lately but when we do it's like it always has been and I know I could tell her anything. It's gutting that she is so far though.

I have a small handful of school friends one of whom I used to consider another BF as out of the group we stayed in touch the most consistently thoughout the ups and downs of uni and coming back home after etc but she very rarely makes an effort with me any more and makes it abundantly clear that she doesn't feel any closer to me than the rest of the group now which makes me feel sad.

Other than that I have a couple other friends and aquaintances who I see from time to time but am not close to and OH and I don't have any mutual or coupley friends. TBH I do get a bit maudlin about it sometimes and wonder what's wrong with me, why do I find it so hard to make close friendships?

This is pretty much me and my bestie too! I'm 3 weeks younger and our mums met a prenatal classes so we first met as bumps! We were inseparable when we were young even though after nursery we went to different schools and she moved a little way away. We have some life long traditions (have been to the same panto every Christmas since we were 6) and we carried these on even when there were times when we were quite different people and prob wouldn't have been mates if we didn't have a history and had gone to the same school. But we grew closer again as we both matured - and even more close after she had an accident that needed surgery.

As soppy as it sounds she really is the best mate ever! She tells it exactly how it is but somehow we've managed not to have serious fallings out (other than who had the best sandpit!) She's also responsible for me meeting OH cos she moved up to the Lakes to be with her now hubbie, who happened to have a hot mate!haha

    I am very lucky!
