Do you have a tattoo?

Stazzle, 24 August, 2010 at 12:26 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 30

And if so what is it/are they?

I am toying with the idea of getting one and am just intrigued to know what other people have, maybe for a bit of inspiration? Pics welcome!

I have a star tattoo on my right foot. I've already posted it on Hitched loads so will try and track down a photo of it.

Nope. I'm afraid tattoos wouldn't suit me (if there is such a thing?) Although if I were to have one it would probably be a star on my ankle. Something small and sweet.

I have 2 - a butterfly on my shoulder, and a scrolly design thing on my lower back. Don't have pictures of either I'm afraid.

I had a tribal one on my lower back when I saw 17 (more commonly known as a tramp-stamp...no offence to any fellow tramp-stampers on here) and I don't really like it now, although, as I am not very likely to be displaying my muffin top overhang any time in the near future, I don't suppose it really matters.

I would like a nice pretty one now, but not sure what to have or where to have it.

I have my name in chinese on the arch of my left foot, teh sign for friendship on my right ankle, the sign for year of the snake at the top of my left bum cheek and then 11 stars gettng smaller and weaving down my spine from my hairline which have shooting stars interweaved around them. All i would say is if you get a tatoo you have to have a reason and really think about where you have it. All of mine can be covered if i want/ need them to be. Even though i really thought about mine and loved them when i had them done i am now going to have some of them covered up with others. I dont regret any of mine at all just as i have grown up i have changed as a person and so want my tattoos to reflect who i am not who i was.

I have a dolphin on my shoulder ☹️ I really hate it now but had it done when I was 17 and thought it was cool. I am thinking of having it removed but think it may hurt more than the actual tattoo!

Someone said to me that your tattoos signify a moment in your life that you will always remember when you look at it. I think thats lovely.

But seriously think lots about it before doing it and have it in a place that you can cover it up. Or when you think you've decided try doing it in henna for a couple of months to see if you do actually want it.

    Thanks for the replies.

Looks pretty RaeF! Did it hurt on your foot?

I do want something that has at least some significance, was considering just the letter S somewhere in pretty lettering but not sure if that's a bit boring. Or I could have a variation of my maiden name, perhaps in its original language/form, but that might look a bit odd. I also wouldn't really know where to have it. I really like foot tattoos and also wrist tattoos but would be open to ideas. Hmm decisions.

I have 3, both wrists and one ankle.

Had another booked but got engaged so have put it off til after the wedding as I don't want any of mine showing on my wedding day. I'm gonna have to wear some kind of cuff on one wrist to cover one and something on the other without it looking stupid to cover the other. I don't regret them, I just don't want tacky looking wedding photos.

I have three (all of which i have said would be my last ?...tis addictive!)

One is on my lower inside arm a cross with a flower, another one on my bicep, a polish saying of 'anything i desire i already have' and more recently a three week old angel on my upper back (which really hurt) i love them all.

    Sorry, forgot to say, lol.

On my ankle I have 3 stars, they meant something at the time.. One was for my ex, one for me and one for my step daughter. So glad I didn't go down the name route! Will get it covered eventually.

On my right wrist I have a pink star with a ribbon going round my wrist.

On my left wrist I have 2 pawprints for my 2 boys.. We have 3 now though lol.

Here's Rex showing off Mummy's tattoo:

Not really. It only took 20 minutes to do! The bits coming back toward my ankle hurt the most but mainly it just felt tickly. Especially the bits nearest my little toes!

Can't wait to have another but definately want to wait and get something significant - this is 4 stars for myself and 3 siblings. Hoping for one more niece / nephew for the 7 smaller stars! ?

Oooh really? It does look gorgeous. Her one is actually turned to the side blowing "fairy dust" out too, in purple. The only thing she's worried about is in the future if/when she ever gets pregnant, it will obviously swell out.

I've just got one. Sorry about the odd pic, it's a HPAD from June. My best friend and I both have the same. I'd love ant artwork-y type one of hibiscus flowers on my right shoulder but it's not to be.

I have a rather rubbish one of a chinese symbol on my lower back.I got it when I was younger and wish I hadnt now as its a bit naff. Wish I had spent time picking a nice design that would last the test of time a bit better.

    I have 3.

A fancy G on my foot, which i want to add to somehow with a K for OH

    A rose on my wrist.

And my work in progress is cherry blossom and butterfly's going up my spine, one more sitting needed to finish joining it all together.

I love tattoo's and sometime wish i had the balls to have something more obvious like a half sleeve or something but i know i'd never do it.

1 is going to be Harry and his date of birth on my right wrist fairly small and will mainly be hidden by a watch or bracelet

2 is going to be 3 stars somewhere again somewhere that can be hiden bottom of back possibly 1 for me 1 for h2b and one for Harry

3 is going to be Mrs S at the back of my neck which will only be seen when my hair is up which is only when I am at home in the shower or on the beach.....what do you think?
