I have a classy Wolverhampton accent, though it is not strong and I do not speak the dialect. Some of you may call it a 'Brummy'accent (which it is not!).

Tray, I think you have a very southern accent, I don't think you've picked up a northern twang at all. I'm from Sheffield and thought I had no accent, but apparently I have quite a strong Yorkshire accent!

The accents here are so varied!! I just have an accent that makes British people ask, "So what part of America are you from?" and I just respond "Canada."

It's generic big city north east US/Canada talk.

I just sound foreign, but if you listen closely you can tell I'm Canadian because I say "sorry" a lot.

Haha, French Canadian? Eating my poutine? mmm, poutine.

And as for Orpington.. I wouldn't really call it posh!! just today on the train I was trying to decipher two women who were deep in conversation. All I caught was, "oi fought yew wuz inna job cen'a, innit!"

Tray, I'll take your word for it regarding my accent, I'm always told I sound posh. A posh Yorkshire lass, I didn't know there was such a thing ?

Oh and I thought that poutine thing sounded like something posh, but it actually sounds nice!

Why run? It IS a cannuck thing. I would never have expected anyone outside Canada to have heard of it, but I'm trying to spread the word!

Poutine is amazing, and easy to make at home. It's a pretty common weekend lunch - chop up a few potatoes, toss them in olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, chili powder (or whatever spices you like), bake for about 30 minutes, then toss on some cheese and make some squeezy instant gravy.

It's to die for. And SO not posh Smiley smile

I am a weegie but don't speak like they do on rab c nesbitt. I've been told I have a soft accent. I cringe when I hear Glaswegians talking through their noses, so common!

Umm a bit of a mixture. I say baaaarth and laaarrf rather than bath and laff but throw a few "innits" in there quite often without realising! I probably sound a bit farmer-ish to some too! I cringe when I hear my voice on voicemail etc.

Chidders... what did you think!? lol

    Aww, more for me!

OH grew up around here, I guess in the bit around the station. His accent has been described as slightly posh southern grammar school boy Smiley smile

    YES!

I always thought that was the normal word for it until one day, for some reason I mentioned gambole to someone not from the midlands, and they looked at me like I was crazy.
