Do you pick your H2Bs suit together?

Little_MrsA2B, 2 August, 2015 at 11:26 Posted on Planning 0 18

Hi Hitchers!

Just wondering if people normally pick the groom's suit together or whether you just leave them to it?

I said we should do it together but he says it's the same ad my dress (!), that he should do it all and ut should be a surprise....

I have a vision of the groos and ushers in mankinis or pink suits or something....!!

I tried to get my husband and groomsmen to sort out their suits, but they preferred that I went with them so they didn't pick the "wrong thing". I asked them to get navy suits that fit.

My OH has been very keen to sort it out himself (not that he has yet) and was at first very reluctant to discuss what he would be getting with me. I do think he wanted it a secret like my dress.

I told him I need to have some idea of what he was getting so I could get the page boys to match so he has let me know it's navy. And also that he doesn't like waistcoats so won't be wearing one. That's all I know really, but at the end of the day there's not a whole load of variation in a navy suit so I'm sure it's fine!

The boys sorted what they wanted, then I went to the shop towards the end of their visit with a colour swatch to match their vest/tie with the bridesmaid dress. He'd picked exactly what I too had in mind though.

I asked my OH to sort it out. He has booked it for next Saturday and is dragging me along, even though I said I don't care what they picked as long as they liked it and was comfortable lol

Only if you are both happy with it.

I was quite happy leaving it to my OH however he wanted to pick his suit together.

Thanks for all your replies. I think I was just worried as I know his sense of humour and the mankini thing totally wouldn't surprise me!! Maybe I should just let him get on with it on his own then. He's doing a good job with the rest of it so hopefully the suit will follow!

I left mine to it. I said to him "you've got one job, don't f*** it up".

He picked the suit, as he wanted a particular style and fit, and we picked the cravats and waistcoats together - all on the same trip.

My oh picked his own and it was so nice to be surprised by what he was wearing. They all looked amazing and I was even more excited to see him

My OH kept saying he wanted to sort it himself. However, after he told me a couple of his ideas i suggested we have a look together as neither would have looked right with my dress or the bridesmaids. We went together and he found a suit he loved which was exactly what i had been thinking of so its worked out well for us.

We talked a bit about what might look.good and then he went and picked himself. The suit he chose is lovely, although the waistcoat and cravat was not what I expected him to choose. Totally his choice though, he looks fab and loves it that's good enough for me!

I've told OH it's up to him to get it sorted, but we've discussed colours. He's been happy to talk about everything but for some reason wants his ring to be secret? Which I find weird...

I'm leaving him to it and I like the idea of having a surprise and not knowing what he has gone for.

He jokes hes going to get the dumb and dumber suits, but I know he is kidding around.

Can I chip in and highjack slightly?

OH is picking his suit etc but should my dad also be in the same attire? or just matching ties or something? Should his dad be in the same as well?

My H2B wanted to be "in charge" of suits but also knew how important that they looked right with me and my maids and the colour scheme, so wanted me to go along with him and his BM , much to his BMs disarray at this apparently being "a lads only thing". LOL!
