Do you think it's worthwhile complaining...

Mrs S Smith, 6 April, 2008 at 20:30 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 11

...or would I just be wasting my time?

In Cambridge they've just opened a new shopping centre extension called the Grande Arcade. I was excited at the prospect because they've got a 3 storey Topshop in there, and as I'm 6ft with a 36" leg it's the only place that's not mailorder that I can buy trousers/jeans from..

I looked at the signs instore, and it clearly said that the Tall section would be on the first floor, together with Maternity, Petite and Shoe Collection..

I went upstairs, and there was Shoe Collection, Maternity, and Petite.. but NO Tall!!

I'm so annoyed cos in the past I've always had to buy clothes from Long Tall Sally, but I'd just love to go into a store and try clothes on, like everyone else, instead of having to order everything on mailorder!!

Sorry for the long post, but basically I'm curious as to whether it'd make any difference if I wrote to them and complained? Since it was clearly posted that Tall should be upstairs, and there was nothing. Nada.

?

Did you ask the assistants to help you? Maybe they are bringing the Tall range in slightly later?

Did you ask in-store where the tall stuff was? Maybe they had a stock problem and haven't got it yet, or maybe they've put it elsewhere and haven't altered the signs?

Did you ask someone in the store? If it's new could they be waiting for the range to come in?

Did you ask if they will be doing a tall range but for some reason they haven't yet?

I wouldn't complain (and I am complaining queeen ? ) at least not until I'd spoke to the staff in the shop to see what the score is?

But you might have walked straight past it! FWIW I would never complain to somewhere without having spoken to someone at the time. It's not fair. You need to give people a chance to explain (but then I work in the service industry so I would say that).

You walked out without even asking, and now you're talking about complaining?!
What is it with people complaining?
Why don't you phone the store tomorrow and ASK THEM? ?

Could I suggest you email the CE? Remember, you don't have an envelope ?

Absolutely what MG said. ?Go back, ask them and if there isn't a tall range, speak to the manager. If he/she can't help, then consider complaining.
