Morning Ladies,

I have been looking for a while at wedding jewellery and nothing has really grabbed me, Ive been starting to get annoyed that I cant find anything I like and then I saw this, and there is something about it that really grabs me. But do you think it will go with my dress?

This is the necklace ...

And this is my dress

Sorry for the mahoosive pics!

What do you guys think?

Mmm to be honest I'm not sure that it does go. I think the one the model is wearing is too heavy and it detracts from the detailing on the bodice. The one you like looks less heavy than the models but not 100% convinced - sorry.

Thats ok! I want honest opinions. I agree about the models, I think that is too much!

This was my thought exactly. I'm not sure - it might look okay, but I think I'd personally go for a thinner plain chain - but it's also about your personal style.

I agree with diamonds actually - sorry. I think the necklace the model is wearing is too much and detracts from the lovely detail on the bodice of your dress. Although the necklace you have seen is not as big as the one the model is wearing, it still might be best to go with something simpler that shows off your dress detail to its best.

Just an opinion though - you can have whatever you want - its your day.

If you like the look of the models chain with the dress then I think the chain you have chosen will look very similar. However, I think a smaller and simpler chain may look better as your dress has a lot of detail on and I wouldn't really want to have a necklace that competes with the detail of that dress.

I have to say I do agree with the others, I think it will detract from your dress (which is absolutely beautiful). I also have a sweetheart neckline with detialing at the top (don't know if you remember it) and I'll be wearing this

with some pearl and crystal small frop earrings. I think something simple will work really well to enhance your dress without pulling the eye away from it iyswim.

    Hi,

Personally I think the necklace is too heavy because your dress is really detailed and I think it would just be too much and the 2 will clash.

The Swarovski necklace jem179 has suggested is lovely and the same as my mum wore on my day. I also wore a Swarovski necklace that whilst it is still kinda heavy is also a lot more delicate than the one you like and it's a drop design which would match your sweetheart neckline. It's on the website called Emma Y I think if you want to have a look.

    I thinkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

the necklace is gorgeous and is like an extension of your dress beading.

HOWEVER, despite the sweetheart neckline, I need to ask where is the neckline on YOU? I see girls wearing dresses where necklines are almost around their collarbones coz they dont sit on them like they do on the model...(why I hate bodices which cut striaght across and look weird on the bride) so if you have the LENGTH of body - tween collar bone and the dip of the sweetheart - then you will be able to wear it..... if you dont then you risk the necklace touching the dress and it looking odd.

    Hope that makes sense! xx

I think you could get away with it. If you like the look in the pic then I'm sure you could do it.

I have to ask - where did you find the necklace?

Oh I dont know, im so rubbish at this stuff. I agree that the models is too much but hoped this one like teehee said might pick out the detailing in the dress, I was worried something too plain would look odd. But then thought it could be too much...ahh!

Teehee- Yes I have a good length there so I dont think that would be a problem, I cant wear a top like that with our something there other wise that part looks too long and plain and almost like my boobs are running south, as soon as you put something there its a nice area, does that make sense? And thought it tied in well with the embroidery on the dress, but you guys could be right, it may be too much and thats what I was worried about!

GeordieBarbie - its from accessorize, its only £25.

Oh I dont know, im rubbish at making decisions!!!!

    xx

You described your 'area' perfectly lololol....... Id be tempted to buy it and then maybe sell it if it doesnt work........?????? I wanted a bold statement piece of jewellery and I think that necklace would do the same for you!

Thanks! ...i am tempted to buy it, its not a case that i dont like it, its whether it goes, so i could get it, then when the dress is in take some pics with it on, put them out to you guys to see what you think, and if it doesnt work, sell it. Yes, that sounds reasonable. mmm. (or keep it and find another outfit/occassion to wear it!) mmm

Moya I actually really like it! I am a fan of chunky jewellery, and agree with TeeHee that it almost looks like an extension of the dress.

I really like it, do accessorize have a returns policy? If they will let you return it you could try it with the dress. Try explaining to them that you want to try it with your wedding dress.

I really love the necklace but i think it might detract from the dress a bit. At the end of the day though it's your day and it will still look lovely, just in a different way. Go for it if you love it that's all that counts. :-)

I think it would be a bit overkill tbh. Your dress is stunning so i would go for some simple jewellery x

I absoloutely love it and i do think it will go fine with the dress, it will also depend a little on how you will be having your hair etc and any other jewellery, i would suggest that if you really do like it, get it and try it on with your dress if you dont like it you can always send/take it back or sell it x

The necklace is lovely, however, I think that the one the model is wearing and this one is far too heavy for the dress and its detailing. If you did decide to go for this, personally I'd keep any hair accessories to a minimum.

You've picked out something with pearls and crystals... I designed the "Sarah" necklace on my website to compliment a sweetheart neckline and it includes crystals and pearls.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I didnt think about it with my hair stuff, my MOH is lending me her tiara which is quite detailed so that might tip it over the edge!! I think it might get it online, try it together and then I can send it back if its too much, which I have a feeling with the tiara it might be...

<troundles off to look at Lisaloulous and perrfectgems websites!>
