Does anyone not have a clue about what they are doing on their Hen Do?

laura269, 20 March, 2014 at 10:47 Posted on Planning 0 19

???

My 2 bridesmaids have done everything and I have no idea apart from the dates (I have 2 as well!)

I'm so very excited but nervous also!

Me! I know the date, and the fact that we are going to Edinburgh and staying in an apartment. I'm only supposed to know the date, but my friend let slip the other details. My bridesmaid has organised everything. I wanted to do something, but have been told no! Nearer the time I'm being told what to wear etc! I don't handle lack of control well!

Ha me either!! I know it will be lovely but all the same a little part of me needs to know! Nobody has ever managed to keep a secret from me so they have done well!

I have NO idea where I am going or what I am doing Smiley laugh

I know the dates (I am having 2 as well as I asked for a weekend away and a smaller one for people who can't afford to go away and the mums) but that's it.

My sister sent me a hilarious spreadsheet with loads of questions asking me about strippers, nudity, alcohol, activities etc.

She's also asked me for my clothes size so I imagine there will be some kind of dressing up.

**oh and my sister has asked if she can pack for me, which is a little scary...

My OHs stag is the same weekend I love knowing what he is doing when he doesn't!

    I can't wait! 2 weeks, agghh!!

Me! All I know is August 9th is the day. I've provided a guest list and that's all.

A mix of nervous and excited at the moment

    I know nothing either!

My lovely 2 bridesmaids have planned everything, I know the date and that is it. This Saturday!! Eeekk!!

A few weeks ago I was really nervous, not being in control put me on edge a bit, not knowing if they had though of every detail or perhaps forgotten something. But I trust them completly and now im just excited!

All I know is the date! I do hate not knowing but at the same time its quite exciting!

My sister is organising it and I trust her completely, in that it will be amazing but im also sure she'll make me do/wear something stupid.

The worse bit is the other girls all talking about it!

No idea here! I've put my best friends in charge and they've got some boundaries i.e. no dressing up but otherwise they have free rein - I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with as they have some very wicked senses of humour!!!

I've done quite a bit of planning for mine - one is appropriate for my mum and his, so have booked a musical in Bristol, and the other is a trip to Spain (full disclosure: we are very lucky in that one of the bridesmaids' fathers has a villa which we are renting for peanuts), which I had to know about so that we could book holiday time/ flights/ so they were sure I wanted chilled out and not raucous - a bit like that questionnaire I suppose.

But at this point I'm thinking that I need to step back and give my hens the chance to plan something, so will let them work out what we do in Spain/ after the musical. After all, plenty of time to plan things for the wedding itself - I probably need to let go and be more like you guys!

Ive bee quite involved in mine - we are going to a Spa for 3 days :-) ...... I am having a 2nd 'local' night out but have nooo clue about that though. l have a total fear of being out of control so apprehensive and would hate a stripper - don't mind a vale though :-)

That's so nice of your bridesmaids to care of everything for you and keep it as a surprise! Let us know what you end up doing!

I'm the same, my 2 bridesmaids and bridesman have organised the whole thing. All I know is the weekend it is on and who is coming! Is killing me!! I normally plan the hell out of everything so it is quite a welcomed change it all being a surprise! Fairly sure they will be dressing me up at some point too! Love a bit of fancy dress though so that's all good!

Looking forward to hearing what you all have planned for you!!

Same - I haven't got a clue. All I know is the date and I gave them a list of who to invite. I said I didn't have time to plan it so they took me very literally and have made all plans without me - they're giving nothing away, and quite enjoying themselves too I might add. My OH clearly knows what's happening but he's been sworn to secrecy too.

I love not having to plan my hen do! I sent a list of who to invite and I was asked if I wanted it to be in london (where I and most of the girls live) or in Suffolk where a bridesmaid lives (and we can all fit in so not accommodation costs). I picked Suffolk. I have set the following requests: not expensive, cheesy nightclub and no full on strippers but a butler in the buff wouldn't be sent away!! My FMIL (who isn't invited, but her daughter is) let slip there's a spa involved. I know it's silly bit I'm a little disappointed as I'm not a pampering type of girl a and I don't particularly want to be in swimwear around my skinny friends - I would have prefered to not know there was a spa as I wouldn't have had the opportunity to worry about the swimwear issue. I know it will be great though as it's about being together and being a bit silly.

I know the date and that is all! Excited to find out! No idea what to expect although I think it will be very small, most people I want to come won't reply to my bridesmaid who is organising it!
