Does this happen to anyone else....

tams82, 23 June, 2013 at 14:18 Posted on Planning 0 36

......I get an idea of something that I want for the wedding, and then spend the next two hours googling it relentlessly! Just spent over an hour trying to find personalised hangers!

What things have people spent hours searching the internet for?

Yes! I am a hopeless procrastinator at the best of times but wedding planning has taken it to a whole new level. You name it, I've googled it. Relentlessly. For hours in end. And when I'm not doing that I'm on here...

    I think I have a problem.

    I've spent the day googling these;

and ended up ordering one of these in a different colour which hopefully incorporates the pin

And I really must stop ?

I do this pretty much all night after I get home from work, sometimes I drive myself mad, then get over it and google the next thing. I love those pins, saw them on not on the high street. So far I've resisted buying one.

Mooshy, that's the stage that I'm at, everything big has been bought and now I'm on the niff naff stuff that just makes me happy. I'm having 2 ceremonies so I'm planning 2 totally different days, I'm just so lucky!

OH MY GOD HOW I WISH IT WAS ONLY TWO HOURS PER ITEM!!!!!!!!

it started before the engagement (Oct '12), and went on through Christmas, I was very ill in January and in bed for 8 days. Constant googling. Even on holiday in New York, overnight I was checking out this or that. I tried to add up wedding planning hours, to include the research and googling, I stopped at 300. I have loved it and then pinched myself.

3.5 hours to find a garter?

    10+ hours for a bolero?

I have an illness and am glad I am only 13 days out because it will be lovely to read a book, or take the dog on a long walk without the W-word cropping up.

Is there such a thing as 'Wedding Planners Anonymous'? Because I need it. Desperately!

Having said that, I bloody love googling!

I spent more time googling to find something to put our wedding favours in than I did choosing my dress ? Absolutely ridiculous!

I'm incredibly busy at work right now, but it's amazing the time I can find to google bridesmaid dresses, or wedding cars, or whatever else pops into my head at the time. I annoy myself, the longer I spend faffing around on the internet the longer I have to stay at work to catch up - I'm only wasting my own time! ?

This made me laugh because I've been sat for about 20 minutes doing just that! I've even started to check it when I wake up in the morning...It's healthy to admit it when you've got a problem right?

I did that too! In fact, i went and bought the wire, spent hours playing with it to DIY it but made a mess of it :

My colleague Lucy felt sorry for me and made me this:

No-one really understood why I wanted it but I just had to have it!!

If I did DIY would definitely be more down the sticker route! There is a really arty lady at work and I spent ages trying to persuade her to start a new side line business of wedding hangers so she could make them for me!! She couldn't be persuaded....

I too am totally addicted! I just spent 2 hours randomly googling christmas wedding favour ideas! I finally bought a Mr & Mrs sign today after weeks of googling and procrastination and now you've reminded me of those lovely bride hangers I'll be googling those for the next fortnight! All this googling has got even worse since I got my iPhone!
