Domestic Trauma

I went in the garage just now to get some supplies, only to find that Mr_cdl has bought peach toilet roll. Is this grounds for divorce or should I just kick him hard? This is serious, I have guests coming tomorrow, people.

Also, how on earth have I lived with this person for five years without knowing he was a secret pastel couloured toilet roll lover? You think you know someone... ?

Mr W bought peach toilet roll a while back. In his defence, it was the only one the corner shop had. It's now in the back of the cupboard, only to come out for festivals.*

    * - Not that we go to many these days ?

But it'll barely show under the crinolined lady

Anyway, the naked photos of you and H in the downstairs loo will distract the attention. You'd better make sure you have one of those fluffy loo carpets to catch the wild sprinkling you're bound to cause

    In peach, perhaps?

I once bought the ones with the puppies on by accident. Why would you want to wipe your bum on puppies?

All toilet roll over here seems to be white and generaly speaking 1 ply!

One of my collegues even asked me if it was true that the UK has coloured toilet rolls!

There is definitely something wrong with coloured toilet roll but there must be demand or supermarkets wouldn't still sell it. When I worked on petfood the Morrisons buyer also bought "paper products" and said they had numerous complaint when they withdrew the tracing paper loo roll from their stores so they had to reinstate it!

I am quite relieved by this thread. I have a pathological hatred of coloured loo roll. I often rant in the supermarket in the loo roll aisle. I mean why? Why does it even exist?

I thought it was only me. Even Mr K thinks I'm weird on this front.

I thought this was going to be about spiders again!

Champagne - my grandad has always used that tracing paper toilet paper. Is it called Izal or something weird like that? He does always have regular toilet paper in the bathroom too though, for those of us who don't like to cut our ar$es to ribbons when we wipe!

So does my grandfather! Why?! He has the 2 toilet roll dispensers next to each other, one for the horrid stuff and one for nice normal loo roll. Think he'd be devastated if they stopped selling it!

I too am a coloured loo roll hater. Don't see the point of it - fortunately H2B feels the same!

I always thought you were SUPPOSED to buy the coloured stuff to save all the bleach used in making white loo roll going into the environment.

    Maybe not... ?

I'm glad I'm not the only one, I was the joyful recipient of about 24 blue loo rolls last week. I asked why he bought blue and he said his dad had been to Makro and bought us a gift.

    How kind. ?

According to a leaflet I read recently they all use the same amount of bleach (or similar) but obviously the colour ones then use a bit of dye on top.

My dad used to favour the Izal stuff as well*. My mum used to come out of the loo and stick her fingers up to his nose and complain about how they went right through it. Charming parents ?
    * but then one of my first jobs for pocket money was cutting newspaper into squares that he then hung on the toilet door on a loop of string. The toilet was at the bottom of the garden and if we wanted a bath we filled up a tin one from an old copper and shared it. Honestly, I think I was born in the wrong century ?

I think they probably bleach the coloured stuff before they dye it so if you're being picky coloured loo roll has bleach *and* colours going into the environment.

I too abhor coloured loo roll and I also have a mother who matches it with the decor and the soaps and the towels (and show towels ?)

CdeL I suggest there's nothing for it but to divorce MrLune with all speed.
