And what's on your "to read" pile? I have just finished "The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas" and it made me feel sick. All Fun & Games till Someone loses an Eye

Company of Liars

I think Company of Liars is going to win - for now...

What about you?

WHHS. Karin Slaughter is one my list of few authors that I allow myself to buy in hardback so i read Tryptich a while ago, i read it in a couple of days as it was definatly a return to form.

ATM i've got 2 on the go - the latest Jodi Picoult one and the latest Sue Grafton one. I love the SG alphabet series, although as they are set in the 80;s (or there abouts) i keep wondering why she doesn't get out her mobile or google anything.

I've got a Jonathon Kellerman waiting on the shelf to read next. I haven't been reading as much the past few weeks as i'm doing exams, but the last one is on Tuesday so i can get back to a proper read instead of books on audit.

The Inheritance of Loss by Kiran Desai. Still. ?

Before that I read The Road by Cormac McCarthy which is not the kind of thing I usually read at all, but I couldn't put t down (read it one sitting) and enjoyed it in an incredibly grim kind of way.

I am reading Jodi Picoult - Handle with Care. I am enjoying it but I much prefer reading paperbacks. However it was too good to resist.

On my 'to read' pile, I have got Cathy Kelly's latest (can't remember what its called), Thanks for the Memories by Cecilia Ahern and quite a few others too. I also have a few old Martina Cole ones but I am getting bored with her as they are all pretty much the same.

I haven't read any since a Thousand Splendid Suns about 4 months ago. I've just started Beyond Chocolate, not a novel obv. but am enjoying reading again. Am reserving my judgements until i've finished it.

Hole, glad you like the Piers Morgan stuff, i've just bought my dad 'Don't You Know Who I Am' for Fathers Day. He likes to read Piers' column in one of the sunday papers so thought he may enjoy it and hoping it's the sort of thing you can pick up and put down cause he's not a big reader. I'm hoping to pinch it when he's finished.

I'm just about to start Broken Skin by Stuart MacBride. I finished all the Rebus books by Ian Rankin and needed more. Now that I'm working in the library I'm finding lots of books I want to read but not finding the time to do so atm...

Prior to that I read Memoirs of a Geisha and Charlie Brooker's Dawn of the Dumb.

I have several books on the go at once. Currently I am reading: -

The Other Queen - Philippa Gregory

The Vow on the Heron - Jean Plaidy (I'm currently reading all 75 I own in chronological order)

    The Foundling - Georgette Heyer

    Debutantes - Charlotte Bingham

I'm on my own this weekend so reading nothing that will scare me ?

I loved this book soooo very much, I was utterly terrified and could only read it during the day 😆 I think the film missed a trick when it cut the section in the hangout at the end.

I started Company of Liars, btw. Very easy read and I'm enjoying it so far (150ish pages in)

Gale. I love his books; I've read almost all of them.

I finished The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nightime last weekend (bought it Saturday afternoon, finished it Sunday morning). Before that was the biography of Samuel Pepys, which was a brilliant social history of the time, as well as being the story of his life.

They don't go in any order whatsoever. Particularly lovely ones are The Reluctant Widow, Friday's Child, Lady of Quality and Frederica.

They have recently been re-released in new covers so you should be able to get them at any bookshop although charity shops always have tonnes!

I thought that series was fabulous.

    Recent reads that I enjoyed:

-The Woods, Tana French (and the sequel)
    -Anybody, any minute, Julie Mars
    -Home safe, Elizabeth Berg

I am on the waiting list for Harlan Coben's latest book (all set around my area of NJ) and am reading a Nicci French mystery, Until It's Gone, right now.

    I have just finished

Call me Elizabeth by Dawn Annadale, I really enjoyed it, good read she writes very frank!

My next book to start reading is the House at Riverton cant recall author at mo. Its a big book tho and keep putting it off!

I intend to read as many books as possible before this baby pops out!!

With some of the other books on this thread, I also love anything by Phillipa Gregory, I thought Angels and Demons was the best book ever!! I also found the boy in the striped pyjamas a harrowing read, watched film the other week, a bit different from the book. Worth a look.

I'm not sure "I love that book" is appropriate given the subject matter, it's so sad, but it is one I come back to again and again.

I've just finished rereading Friday by Robert A Heinlein and am going back to The Life and Death of Anne Boleyn by Eric Ives, which is bit heavy going and I had to take a break from it.

Think I might read another Philippa Gregory for light relief after that.

ETA Just reminded myself who KM Peyton is, thanks for the reminder, will have to dig out my copies ?
