Done to death I am sure....

Favours.

What are you having?

I am looking for inspiration for my own. Our wedding is at Christmas and so I am looking for something that will tie in with that theme, that people will genuinely like and not just think 'oh great sugared almonds' and something that doesn't cost the earth.

Any suggestions?

I have bought little boxes which I'm going to decorate and fill each with a handmade lavender heart (bridesmaid and I going to make 75 of them - eek!) a british heart foundation pin badge and some jelly beans or M&Ms Smiley smile

I think we are having personalised love heart sweets. I have been stuck on favours for ages, wondering what to have and even whether to bother with them and came across them the other day, ordered a sample and love them! They aren't expensive too....bonus!

Since it's Christmas, why not a Chritsmas tree decoration, you could make them or buy cheap buy pretty ones.

Or what about mini-jars of mincemeat, a mince pie, or a little pack of roses or quality street - they always make me think of Christmas!

We're doing alcohol miniatures for the adults and a box of goodies for the kids. Why not, If its Christmas, have candy canes or the types of choclates that you hang on Xmas trees, Or chocolate coins? Miniature xmas stockings? Santa Hats.. Antlers? Rudolph noses?

Oh god. I wish Mine was an Xmas wedding now!

    We're having milk chocolate truffles.

I associate candy canes with christmas so you could do one each with a piece of holly or something attached.

    Hullo!

We're also having a Christmas Wedding and are giving baubles either in hunter green or silver to fit our colour scheme with our initials and the date on. We're also giving the children that will be there chocolate coins.

We were going to have a selection of Kilner jars filled with different sweets as our centrepieces but I'm now a bit worroed they'll look awful by the evening, half empty & scattered over the table. So now we're thinking of doing a separate sweet table & that will be the favours.

We're having Yankee Candle Samplers called Wedding Day for the ladies and for the men we are hopefully having (have not bought them yet) little white tin buckets filled will mints or chocolates. Idea being that the couple can share the chocolates etc and then use the little metal buckets as a candle holder at home. Well thats the idea anyway!

We are having home made jam in miniature jam jars. My best friend had a Christmas wedding recently and gave little tiny santa snow globes on a ribbon matched to their colour scheme as favours - they were xmas tree decs. They weren't personalised (which I thought was nicer as it made them more of a gift than a part of the wedding) and they were just beautiful. I'm guessing that as they weren't personalised they were probably a bit cheaper, too.

We've been thinking of miniatures, possible a few different varieties of schnapps that way it avoids the what if someone dislikes vodka, brandy, rum, whisky ...blah blah blah problem and probably sweets for the kids, but then we may have 4 ( at least ) guests that don't drink for alcohol for religious reason so this might change.
