I'd go to the shop. I found a dream dress online for about £600. The same dress was available from China for about £200. In the end I got neither since I wasn't prepared to go down the China route, the online was supposedly an official shop but ONLY sold online, and the dress had no other UK distributors. I settled for a different dress that isn't as fabulous but still made me feel lovely.

What you may find is that alterations are very expensive if you go online, whereas you may be able to negotiate discounts on that in the shop.

    Hi,

I went out and booked appointments to try on dresses and get the whole experience. This meant I could work out what looked best on me and try different styles that I would not thought of trying. Once I found my dress I searched the internet and found it online, so much cheaper. I'm now getting a bridal shop to do the alternations so I do not miss out on the experience. Probably saved myself nearly £1000. xx

Have you tried it on yet? Personally I couldn't have known if a dress was right for me without trying it on.

Is the online one a preloved dress or a china dress?

I got mine for ebay, brand new. I was really lucky because I took a chance on it being the right size. Although I spoke with a bridal shop before and they said if the dress was too small they always put a lace up back on to it. But I know people who have brought from china and have been really happy because they can custom make the dress to your size. xx
