Dont tell the bride...

(Claire), 27 October, 2010 at 11:37 Posted on Planning 0 14

I have to say I thought last night Episode of DTTB was the best one of the series, apart from the psycho control freak of a mother, I thought what the groom pulled off was amazing and what a lovely couple they were. When he got emotional because he couldn’t get the church I just thought oh how sweet, and the dress he picked for her was amazing. Although a barn wouldn’t be my choice of venue’s had my OH done that for me I would have been he happiest bride in the world. I should make my OH sit down to watch an episode… he might even feel inspired lol!

I just watched it on iPlayer. Yay for what an amazing effort the groom went to with the reception! He did a stunning job. And that dress was just sensational.

The bride's mother though... OMG I really wanted to lamp her but I'm glad she came back to planet Earth at the end. The bit where she refused to let her daughter go home to get ready on the morning of the wedding was really mean :-(

Just caught up on iPlayer - god what a dreadful, awful woman! everything was about her!!!

"He knows her so well, oh and he knows me"

"and do you know, we had red"

"couldn't he leave work at home, just for one day?, thats whats on my mind"

I was screaming at the telly at one point! shut UP your sour jealous cow!

What a guy though eh? he did SOOOO well.

Oh my word, I watched this episode last night and I too was getting angry with her mother.....its my dream...its my dream....argghhhh its not your bloody wedding!! seriously, her face when she stomped over to check out the cake, she was hoping for it be crap so she could moan off at him. I felt well sorry for the daughter having to 'live her mothers dream' that she obviously never had.

On a positive note, at least the groom this time seemed to actually think of the Bride a bit more, they usually just do everything they want or things they can just about get their hands on due to being lazy. The surfer guy the other week in Cornwall being a prime example!!

OOh, I'm going to iPlayer this now. I don't often get to watch it (Four Weddings is just allowed in our house but I'd be pushing my luck with DTTB too!) but he's out, mwahahaha!

It was suggested by someone I know that the bride agreed to go on DTTB so that she could avoid her godawful mother taking over the whole wedding planning...

I loved this one (when I'd stopped swearing at the mother!). I completeld adored how he made over the barn, and all the work he put into it. I would be completely bowled over if Mr Spoon did something like that.

I was most irritated by the mother going on about "my dream dress" though - AAARRGH!!!

Ahhhhh, what a lovely chap! It made me quite tearful! I alternated between feeling cross at her mother and then feeling quite sorry for her as she was so obviously jealous and lonely. It was good to see her admit it at the end.

I loved this dude!! How he became teary after being a self confessed unemotional lad when the church wasn't available. The Something old, something new etc gift box was a lovely touch, can't believe he remembered it!

The Mother also did my head in, what a stupid old witch. I'd have reached inside the tele and slapped her if I could. When she called the girl selfish for wanting to go home, I felt my blood boiling.. Selfish? SELFISH? Oh the irony!!

The guy though.. A definite keeper!! Loved the barn!
