Don't tell the bride....anyone watch it last night?

looneysh, 7 September, 2011 at 06:48 Posted on Planning 0 25

What did you think? I was a bit shocked and cringed at every decision he made lol!! The miners club where the Reception is held is only 10 minutes away from me lol never been in it though, will need to make a point of going to see if they still have the kitty toilet seats lol

I reckon it was all a fix- no way would someone who claims to be this "girl about town" and only like the finer things in life etc as they made her out to be would be happy with that venue and an xmas theme in June!

And those loo seats- she was like "aaaah they are cute." No they are not love. They are grim.

I know her mum from work but not the girl, had no idea she was going on it! Does anyone find it strange that he apparently decorated the venue (miners) on his own but there were things like starlit dancefloor, backdrop curtain, it quite obviously looked like a company had come in to do it, and why the hell did she do the skydive!!!! her hair was awfull at the ceremony!

As soon as it showed it i said "I don't think they've done that all by themselves, they've definitely had loads of help!".

Some of the decisions he was making were awful and i'm quite surprised it all seemed to work out ok in the end!

I thought there was a lot of acting involved too. She went from "I'm terrified of flying" to "I've always wanted to do a skydive". I did cry when her friend showed up though, you could see that wasn't acting!

I think certain aspects of all the episodes are exagerated for effect, but I agree with Panj the moment she realised it was her best friend holding the dress that was no act, did you notice she actually didnt notice her friend at first busy thinking about her dress it was at second glance she noticed. Her partner was just out there, men do not think logically, and a sky dive on your wedding day is somewhat normal to alot of men. Fair play to her for going through with it I dont think I could have. Her hair didnt look great did it, especially as it looked so nice the first time round. I think he did a good job of making the miners club look half decent. A classic case of whats important and whats not important, they clearly love the bones of each other so who cares.

The skydive I just could not get over...hair and make up would be ruined and there was an hour wait for all the guests while she got back into her dress!!

I love the program though, so excited there's a new series ?

The puking footage was totally unnecessary. It put me off no end. He was a knob, but the bit where he got her friend over was amazing. He redeemed himself big style there!

I sat through the whole episode 1 hour after it finished as I taped it to watch after H went to bed with my Jaw dropped to the floor. It was a cracking episode, I thought it was a wind up/set up etc going through it but he did do some lovely things for her - her best mate, extra touches on the hen do.

I thought at 1 point he was going to spend £8k on doing up the loos ? I agree with the above comments re the sky dive and the hair etc - but I think it was great show

    one of the Classics

I want to watch it again but I think the 2nd time around wont be so effective ?

I can't talk to my DTTB buddy at work about it as she hasn't seen it and will be watching tonight so I can gossip about it at work tomorrow

I can honestly say that if my OH had arranged for me to sky dive to my wedding that the wedding would be off! He seemed a prize plonker to me but she clearly loves him enough to still want tp go through with it after arranging wedding 'transport' like that so fair play to them. Personally I would want to kill him lol!

It looked fab! although i have bigger hips than her i felt it looked better on me!?! (Vain or what! hehe!) Are you wearing a petticoat or a hoop? I wore a hoop so it looked more full on the bottom where as she was wearing a petticoat (i think) so it just fell to the floor!

I was so releaved when she liked it! i thought with her choice she'd hate it & i was so worried she'd start slagging it off!!

Well, I thought they were a couple very good couple! They seem very much in love and are clearly obsessed with the other. I thought the bride looked amazing when she was shopping in the vintage dress shop with her sister.
That said, they were very strange. DH could not believe that he has bought three dresses for her wedding and she had to buy the last couple of years

Anyone who watched last night? The mother married ... I could not believe he was a child. Being in "this is not the day that I wanted" and "Oh, it's my dream dress," but mostly it was his shcoking have the nerve to tell her daughter that if I do not like? Uh ... love is not marriage. I mean, I can understand that excited about your daughter married, and wanting to be part of the plans, but felt he "wanted to have control over the whole thing. It was more than a little arrogant.

I only watched the last 10 mins but didn't like the skydive idea, the working mens club, the xmas decs or the loo seats. Tack imho. And for her to tell him that he 'nailed' everything, I think was a bit of an overstatement.

Good Old Kirkie! I love how she thinks that living in Kirkintilloch makes her a Country Bumpkin. - Kirkie is a town.... not the countryside.

And he visited Angelique Lamont! Fantastic shop! Went there to look at Bridesmaid dresses!

I nearly cried when she realised it was her best friend with the dress!

I would have been "blown away" (heh heh) if I had been suprised with a sky dive. Just so long as there was hair and make up on standby afterwards! It would be amazing!

Was not sure about the venue though...
