As above. I have tanned toes. I look grubby.

That is all.

Yep, my big toes constantly look grubby from spring to autumn, the attractive white line across my foot is rather special too.

Why is my foot the only part of me that tans ?

Oh yay!! im so glad im not the only one ? especially as I ordered 4 pairs of Birkies a few days ago, after deciding that my feet are too awkward to fit comfortably into any other summer shoe made on this earth ?

Ladies, can you tell me the best style for a birkie newbie? I've wanted a pair for years but always refrained as t I'm not good with shoes without backs as I don't walk well in them. My feet are hacked to pieces and even with proper dressings on them, they're getting worse with any shoes at all so I need to do something. Am I better with Madrid or would Ibiza, Gizeh or Arizona be the one for me? Also, I'm 5.5, would I be best ordering a 5 or a 6? Thank you and sorry for the quizzing. ? ?

    I have Arizonas in a size 6 and I'm between a 5 and 6 usually, Mrs M.

I can walk in them quite well but had to get my dad to punch extra holes in the suede to tighten them a bit!

I can't do the Madrid style as I hate having shoes flapping at my soles. I do have the toe post type and they are ok for messing around but not for any serious distance.

Apart from my grubby toes, I love my Madrids. I normally dont like that style if Im walking far but theyre really comfortable.

Oh my goodness - I thought it was just me!

I have a pale triangle on each of my feet where my birki straps have been!

I only have a small quare of white on the front of my foot as I alternate between madrids and gizehs so the only bit that doesnt get the sun is right in the middle of my foot!

Mrs M if youre ok with toe posts I highly recommend gizehs theyre much easier to keep on yer feet than madrids. And Im a size 9 usually but wear an 8 in Birkies

    Thank you all! ?

I've tried a few pairs on over the years but think they've all been Madrids, now I think of it. I have really wanted a pair for so long. ? Arizonas or Gizehs could be the way to go. TJ Hughes sells them for £20 a pair (I'm not fussed about buying last year's styles) but I have a feeling it will all be Madrids.

I might have to bite the bullet and order a pair, probably Arizonas andgoing for a 6 as I'm a fat 5. ?

    Mrs M!!

i have 2 Madrids, and I just ordered 4 pairs (i know! 😲) from here cos they're quite cheap http://www.footshopping.com/main.cfm?MI=6&AktionID=2

I am a 5 1/2 but in Birkies I ordered a size 37 as they come up big.

    xx

Madge - see my post on the fit flops thread about the new Skechers. They're designed NOT to flop. And I know how you like your Skechers...
