Dorset brides?

Are there any other brides getting married in Dorset? My H2B and I have started looking at venues and have fallen in love with a couple but I'm already having major panics that there's no way this wedding will not cost a fortune The places we love were £5k and £6k respectively just to hire. Our initial budget was £12-£15k (which I thought was ok?!) but it looks like that wouldn't get us very far. Am I panicking unnecessarily? Or should I speak to my H2B about some cheaper venues? He is far more 'the bride' than I am and wants this big white wedding. Is it possible to spend that kind of money on a venue and still manage to get all the other bits for a reasonable sum?

Where abouts in dorset are you? I'm a somerset bride so could potentially be close?

Our venue is £3000 just for hire and that's out of season. Which month are you planning to get married in?

We got married in Bournemouth, although we live in Southampton. Our venue was The Orchid Hotel, a small boutique hotel in the centre of Bournemouth, meaning we had photos on the beach.

We got married this sep in Bournemouth/Christchurch at the old vicarage, exclusive use of the house, gardens and marquee, buffet for reception and eve included, wine for meal, welcome drink and toast, about 6k. Ceremony and reception all in one place. Just up the road from there is the east close hotel. Good deals, and lovely rooms. Depends what you're going for?

Other venues include, green house hotel, Christchurch harbour hotel, Italian villa, hotels along the beach front (forgotten the name! Lol)
