I'd read that DT wasn't in it much so really wasn't looking forward to it but I must admit I was surprisingly impressed by the quality of Catherine Tate's acting in that episode which I don't think we've seen from her before - she always came across as just one of her own characters in previous episodes.

Yep, apart from the lack of DT (naturally). I like Donna's character and thought she deserved an episode virtually to herself. Next week does indeed look fab.

I'm just watching the confidential on bbc3 and noticed that gwen from torchwood was a Dr Who episode as a maid. I think it was the episode based in Victorian London with Christopher Eccleston.

The Bees - Sontarans are allergic to bee stings.

Remember Bad Wolf appeared in various episodes of the first series? Was this the case in the current one and I just never noticed it?

Apparently there is a meme in this series, but it's subtle.

The only thing I've noted is the bee issue, but as a nerd I think that's best explaied by the Sontaran thing.

Have there been a few instances of characters saying words to the effect of "Oh, you're Donna" or is it my imagination?

There was a drawing of a wolf behind the child CAL in Silence in the Library.

The arc this year is the bees. There is also one other thing which has actually been mentioned several time throughout all 4 series, but since no one seems to have spotted it I won't say.

I was pleasantly surprised tonight. Since it was written by RTD and featured Rose fecking Tyler (shudder) it should have been bad, but it wasn't bad at all. It was even quite moving in places. I love Donna and Wilf so much.

No, I don't think the bee thing is to do with the Sontarans as they have mentioned it too many times in the episodes following the Sontaran story. It must still be relevant in some way.

But bee stings do kill Sontarans, it's a very nerdy DW lore thing. And RTD does seem to play to those a bit. Seems a bit coincidental when there was a major Sontaran storyline.

i loved it this week - catherine tate has been a revelation - i found it really emotional

billie did have a touch of the new teeth about her - but she warmed up to it - i liked her dominance at the end - i love that she has parted and goes on and is building her own legend

am really looking forward to next week - so we get DT, martha, donna, rose and captain jack? (not too fussed about needy beth) wah hey!!

ONE - It's debatable whether or not the bee thing is canon, as that comes from a computer game. I don't recall it ever being mentioned in the series. Official canon only covers the series, not the offshoots (games, books etc), which is a shame, because I think often the books come up with more interesting ideas.
