drapes? are they really needed?

naomiowen, 14 July, 2010 at 20:44 Posted on Planning 0 7

Heres my hall

me and h2b cant decide on whether or not we need them?

the ceilings smooth and white and the lights will be off with gold up lighters shining up?

although very nice im not sure if the final look will make enough difference to be worth £300-£400? also the walls?

what do you guys think?xxx

I personally wouldn't as that money could be put to use else where like a holiday or the house? Something that will last longer than a day. But if your heart is telling you to get them then I would as you probably will always regret it.

Sorry that doesn't really help x

Are you having chair covers? If not then it wouldn't matter anyway, I would only use the drapes if you are having the room fully dressed.

I'm going to have to say yes i'm afraid ?

Only because i'm in a similar situation with my venue, the curtains are patterned and i don't really like them so i'm covering them with white material. Also chair covers, both OH and my mum think we don't need them and that nobdy will notice the chairs but i know i will notice them and i don't want to be sat eating my meal thinking i'd got those bloody chair covers.

So the big question is will you sit there on the day and wish you'd have done it??

    xx

No the chair covers will drerss the room enough & the uplighters will "dress" the walls so you won't need them. I only cover walls & curtains if they are really unsightly but your venue looks fine.

I would say yes, but tha's only because we are having them ourselves ? Althugh having said that that we ae having drapes on the columns not the walls as they are fine. The columns are painted bright orange and wouldn't go with a traditional white and claret red wedding. This is costing £200 more ?
