dress advice

debs35, 24 June, 2012 at 19:07 Posted on Planning 0 11

I havent been on hitched for a while, busy with uni!

I have finally been dress hunting again and have a dilema! I like several dresses, 2 are similar and both are the same top half, which i love, the other is straight and slimming and just elegant. But im feeling pressured into ordering one as the shop where ive seen them are only holding the 10% discount for a week. I like the 2 bigger dresses but one has an enormous train which I dont want. My venue would be fitting to the 2 bigger dresses as its a big venue, but mum says its what i want at the end of the day, i just dont know how to decide!

They are;

sottero and midgely; katelynn

maggie sottero priscilla ( but im not sure about the ruffles!)

and maggie sottero Azelia which is stunning on! so slimming.

I wonder if it would just be better to have one made with the sparkly top and a chiffon organza bottom and the back made like Azelia. What do you think? Im so indecisive!

I really like the top of the priscilla one! The only one you mentioned being lovely on was the Azelia though, that tells me you like that one best? It is lovely!!

Don't be pressured by the offer of discounts how much is the 10% in the whole of the wedding cost. If you rush you may end up changing your mind and that will be more expensive. You have a yerar and you have only just started looking. None of these dresses have made you say you love it and must have it.

Go with your heart. From what you've said, it sounds like you prefer the Azelia.

I love the Azelia and it sounds like that's your favourite too!

When I found my dress I went in and tried it on 3 times. Each time the shop had an offer on of 10% off so I wouldn't let that rush you into a decision.

I like the top one and the 3rd one. I really like the back detail of the third one.

    Hi,

I'd have a good think about what is practical and what you feel comfortable in, for example I think the dress I feel slimming in is very important to me. On a personal level, like others have said, I don't want a huge train as I know it'll be too impractical for our venue.

Whilst 10% is good, I think that you should feel excited and delighted not pressured, sometimes if that's the feeling you get it means something is wrong? I don't know how much your dresses cost but is 10% saving worth not feeling 100% happy with your choice? Bear in mind with ebay, preloved etc you may be able to get the dress you love for less anyway.

I love the 1st one. It's stunning. The back of the 3rd dress is gorgeous but I'm not keen on the front.

Hi all! thank you for your replie, only just seen them. Thats exactly what i was thinking about the Azelia, i love the back but not the front as much, ive spoken to a dress maker about making a dress to the same as the azelia back and the skirt, and the top with the bling on the front! but ill see what her designs are like when she shows me!

The Katelynn dress has been my favourite, because of the corset was exactly what i imagined to have, but the train was a bit longer than what i wanted for the reason of it being awkward to move around in!

I wonder if they could chop a bit off for me!!
