Dress and Music

charlie_rabbit01, 8 July, 2015 at 13:21 Posted on Planning 0 13

Just had a call to say my dress is in the shop!!!!

Brimming with excitement, my wedding is only 2 months away but i've not really felt excited about it, it feels more real now.

just need to round up my BM's to go for the fitting.

I'm also very aware that I need to get my music sorted.

What kind of thing would be best for the signing of the register? instrumental or songs? How many do/did you have?

We don't really want anything to obvious or soppy.

So far we have:

Processional - Santana - Europa or the Jurrasic Park Theme

Recessional - Michael Jackson You Rock my World

As we're having a faster 'first dance', so this is where I'm hoping to use our slower favourite songs. Unfortunately these are a bit soppy, so not much help. However, I'd imagine you'd want something people can enjoy while you do the signing, as most won't really be able to see you through the crowds trying to get a photo!

I'm in the process of thinking about music, think i will walk in to One day like this (Elbow) as we are both massive fans and I get goosebumps every time I hear it.

Everlong ( foo fighters) probably acoustic version for signing register.

also want something by Bellx1 but some of their lyrics are less than ideal for a wedding!

thinking about sky full of stars (Coldplay) sweet disposition ( Temper trap) Only love ( Ben Howard) baby I'm yours ( Arctic Monkeys) Tenerife sea ( Ed Sheeran) for guests arriving.

i still need some more for guests arriving and check they flow together.

not too worried about something as we leave as the aisle is tiny! Might go with the rock version of Everlong.

Probably going with Kodaline - The one for first dance.

We watched the first film this week and I joked we should have it as the processional and when we actually listened to it, I think it really works.

Ohh music for seating the guests? I hadn't thought of that. Though there are only 17 of them.

We only have 26 guests too, but no doubt some will be there at 3.30 others at 3.59 so we will have 30 mins of music ( better than silence for OH too while waiting for me!)

    Processional: game of thrones theme

Signing the register: soundtrack to house targaryan

    Resessional: rains of castamere instrumental

All have no lyrics at all as some of them a quite depressing!

How exciting! I have my first fitting on Friday (It's 6 1/2 weeks till our wedding).

We are having instrumental music as we are having a harpist play during our ceremony & drinks reception.

For the signing of the register we are probably having Passaggio by Ludovico Einaudi

We were also considering the theme song from the film Amelie, Comptine d'un autre été - L'après-midi but my OH prefers Passaggio as it flows a little better and works better as "background music".

For the processional and recessional we are having Pachelbel's Canon in D and Mendelssohn's Wedding March, they both sound really good on harp (especially the Wedding March is less ominous sounding on harp than on organ Smiley winking)

    It's about:

    -your wedding dress

    -your wedding excitement

    -your bridesmaids for your wedding

    -your wedding music

Therefore, not pp. There's a load of 'pp' posts at the moment and they annoy me!
