Dress concerns

Ladylou178, 14 June, 2016 at 08:38 Posted on Planning 0 11

Hi!

So I have picked this dress http://sassiholford.com/dresses/emma-2/ but it will be in ivory with bardot sleeves. BUT I am concerned that high low is a mistake, will it look silly in the pictures? I have the option of full length for an extra £100 which I am considering seriously.

Advice please!!

Have you tried it on yet? Did you love it?

Could you try the full length one on for a comparison?

Nothing looks silly if you chose it 'cause you love it and you feel amazing in it. 'Traditional' wedding dresses are becoming less common now- don't fret because it's not something people would expect.

This. Only you know which one you personally prefer - if you chose it in the high-low because you loved it, then I don't see a reason to change unless you now feel that you like the longer one more.

If you can, I'd give it a go trying both of them on and see what makes you feel best, then go with that.

You won't look silly in whatever you pick Smiley smile

I have tried it on and I did love it. Unfortunately there isn't a full length to try on as it is a madetomeasure dress.

I worry how the dress will look in pictures and I am very traditional girl. I hate anyone considering me silly or daft . My fiance s also very traditional and was incredibly anti-short/ teadresses which is why I am feeling pretty concerned now.

I love it in the high-low style, because you can go to town on your shoe choice! But if you're feeling anxious could you try a similar shape dress elsewhere in full length & see how you feel? It's a gorgeous dress.

I love the dress and it is the one I will have never mind what length - I love the satin ribbon finish and the simplicity of it. I'm having an art deco belt around my waist and my hair down and curled with a cathedral veil.

I've tried on full length dress and liked them but this style I loved. I might go back and ask the bridal lady for her advice. I'm really beating myself up about as I tend to over-worry about EVERYTHING! God knows what I'll be like this time next year (get married on 17/6/17)

You've answered your own question! You liked the others but you loved this! If you changed to something you just "liked" would you look back at your pictures and regret not going with your heart? It's not as if you are choosing between a traditional wedding dress and one funky weird option made of shower curtains or something (Watched sewing bee last night and they were using pvc!) It's a beautiful dress!

What is it about weddings to make us doubt and over analyse every decision we make!! I've been exactly the same!!

See I don't think this dress would look interesting without the high low. I normally don't like the high low style but I LOVE LOVE LOVE this. It is subtle and works well with the pockets.

If you loved it then everyone else will too!

This dress is stunning! And surely making it full length will take away the main feature of the dress? If you love it, have it. No one will think you are silly, it's beautiful and you'll get some lovely pictures!

    Go with your heart xx

That dress looks gorgeous. When you said you were worried about it being hi-low, I was picturing something knee-length or higher at the front. In fact, the difference between front and back isn't that big. It's still a long dress, but with the advantage that you don't have to worry about walking being difficult like it could be in a floor-length dress. I love it. It looks really elegant but you can go for expensive and/or gorgeous shoes and not worry about them being hidden under the dress all day.

Don't worry too much about your OH. Mine said he wanted me to wear a tight mermaid style, but I actually took him with me when I went dress shopping and he ended up preferring a column dress instead.
